@pakman Panadol?
Leon's AB nickname.
That nickname shows how much our attitude around concussion has changed. Not sure we'd call someone that now - at least publicly anyway.
Yes we would.
No we wouldn’t.
We are creative here and would call them Nurofen.

Unless he is offered the All Blacks XV gig?
Wouldn't be mutually exclusive?

It is the AB XV that plays the Barbarians.

Ah. You'll understand I didn't read the article. Not sure it's ethical or even legal to do so.

Apart from tests in Christchurch, ABs normally sell out

Well at least one bit of honesty from ABs media's, Brodie admiring the gameplan hasn't changed for years
"We played our same game plan for a number of years and it started to get picked off, especially around our forwards and through the middle of the park. It's the same with anything in life. Businesses, people, evolve. Skillsets evolve. I don't want to give away too much, but hopefully it'll start to show on Saturday."
Paywalled

Yeah, but foster and co have talked about hopinge their physicality and plans to defeat rush defense for quite some time now...
But I hope to see something new, for once. Well not even new, stuff that had been done intermittently, and works when used

It does sound promising. The fact that we could see the game plan get picked off years ago has frustrated the shite out of us fans for such a long time I think the average fan would be happy to see any form of innovation. Seeing the tactical nous and innovation of the respected top NZ SR sides and other top international sides rubs salt into that wound.
Even if the ABs win today, if it is done using the same old tired game plan, we know it is just a matter of time before the wheels fall again and it will be a long season. From this perspective, this game is incredibly important for the mental health of NZ fans. -

From this perspective, this game is incredibly important for the mental health of NZ fans. There were some promising changes in the first test, but one of them that was most trumpetted, may have been made up on the night. When asked about Smith hitting the third receiver to get outside the initial Irish defence, which lead to Aridie's awesome second try, he said
"Actually it was just off the cuff. Just trying to see space and call where the space is and Nuggs just hit me there"
Now maybe this was just in that particular instance, but if not it is
a: a great sign for ABs on field problem solving
b: showing again Foster etc haven;t changed their planI'm not sure which!
-
@Machpants he does that for the Highlanders, and also better than anyone at picking his target and getting it to them in traffic...but tbf it is often the non receivers that have to hold thier bottle and not reach for the pass that in some cases is right there.

Actually if you heard Mooar spek after haftime when asked what they told the team, his reply, "very little, the players had the answers to the questions already".
I liked the sound of it. -

So you're saying Ardie wasn't playing to pattern?
