I'm picking Goodhue starts at 2nd 5.
Either is fine by me as long as they play like they did last night.
Well, I hope Reiko has a bit more impact than he did last night.
-
@Victor-Meldrew well alot will depend on our forwards.
If Ireland shut us down like the saders shut the Blues down, then, nope....but I do hope that game gave Foz & Co some thoughts about gameplans...

I'm still picking it will be Jack, as well - because Fozzie won't have forgotten that Dave struggled to get over the advantage line against the better teams last year.
But, Dave has certainly played better than the other contenders in the past couple of weeks.
-
@Chris-B particularly in the big dance.
Last night was the first time this season Razor subbed Havili instead of Goodhue wasnt it?
-
@Crucial said in All Blacks 2022:
So the biggest outcome from last night is that Havili will now probably be the frontrunner for the 12 jersey.
I think you're, not only because of how DH played himself, but I suspect RM now has the jump at 10 and they will want to preserve that combo
-
If Smith is unavailable, who wants Christie to start?
-
-
Look forward to seeing the 1st team naming...
Ireland at $4 head to head seems attractive right now.Foster and Co need to deliver some wins, and the Irish will be sensing some vulnerabilities, particularly in the pack.
Really concerned with our forwards just not convinced we have the right mix of props or loosies.
Midfield selections will be interesting, hope to see some combos develop at the very least.

@Stargazer said in All Blacks 2022:
@Tim I think they should bring in Weber as injury replacement. We need an experienced starting 9. But it won't happen, because how then do you justify picking Christie over Weber?
Depends on how much store Foster sets on one game I guess (though Ginger has faded a bit in the last few games). Wouldn't be surprised to see Fakatava the preferred no.9 by the 3rd Test.
-
Where's Razor
Will the pain continue? -
The Māori team can put a marker down by winning their game before the 1st test. This actually becomes an interesting game to look at the strengths and weaknesses of NZ teams against NH opposition like the Irish before the ABs take the field. You would imagine that Ireland won't play any different.

Gcobani Bobo on the SuperSport program suggested the coaches pick Faainganuku at 12 and honestly it's not the worst idea.

Was there a worse one? Did someone suggest picking Franks at 12?

Too many shots to the head that guy

The Saffas are still watching Super Rugby? I thought they only focused on their new competition that they can win these days.

Is their new comp basically just Currie Cup?
-
@Stargazer said in All Blacks 2022:
@canefan Uhm, you know they're playing in the United Rugby Championship?
They = Bulls, Sharks, Lions and this year's URC winners, the Stormers.
No. That sounds like Super Rugby. Minus SRA.... For a guy who would follow SR religiously, play the tipping games, watch all the tests, my interest is at an all time low right now

It's on at a favourable time for them is the big one. But also they recognize the quality of skill on display is often superior, even if their own rugby can match or better super rugby in terms of physicality.

Ah right. 😴
-
@Kiwiwomble really looking forward to the DHL locals going against the Emirates faithful.

@Bovidae good video.
It actually reminded me of when I watched PGS play bball for Fiji under 18s or 19s in a game in Melbourne about 10 years ago. He had some skills
-
@ACT-Crusader That video also shows how much his body shape has changed from basketball player to rugby player.

Would like to see this sort of a team. Maybe even RTS starting over Tupaea. RTS will need to be thrown into the deep end before the World Cup at some point, sooner rather than later?
Not sure if Goodhue at 100% yet but if he is even him over Tupaea.
Taukeiaho best hooker atm but I think Ross should be on the bench atleast so a chiefs front row coming on together in Ross’ debut makes sense to me.
-
-
-
Thinking about PGS - this must be our most foreign born AB team in a while with him, Fakatava, Reece, LF, RTS, Akira, Ofa, Laulala, Ross, Tauki'aho and the Ginga. I think that's it? Even a couple of whities too.
-
@Nepia starting to look like the team we were accused of being decades ago.

TBF, it's not that bad when you break it down - only PGS came as an adult, Reece, Taukei'aho and Fakatava for school, the rest as kids.
@Bones Not sure? Lomax would have been if he was selected.
-
@Bones you might be thinking of de Groot? He was born in Oz
-
@ACT-Crusader that's the bugger
-
Last year we had Lomax, de Groot, Frizell in addition to those others
