Reece was unreal on Friday and now I'm all in on him playing and being given a license.

Is there a way we can fit all of Reece, Jordan, Jordie and Clarke in the 23?

@mariner4life only with Jordie at 12, which I am warming to with his increased gametime there. He was fucking outstanding against the Brumbies, when he went off for an HIA we just completely fell apart

Chuck Clarke at centre. His Dad went alright.

The problem there is Havili has been underwhelming in 2022

He is was also underwhelming once the pressure came on in the ABs last year.
I don't see as him like an incumbent like Whitelock or Smith, and I think he should be dropped.

I would add after last few weeks (and mainly yesterday for BBBR) I think Big Sam and BBBR have made me feel better about our locks, and really think the 4 named will be those 2 with Barrett and Vai'i.

When SBW was given a go, we had Nonu and/or Conrad to fall back on - which was needed against Wales in '10

That's my point exactly. No twelve is busting down doors and RTS is easily in the top 3, with nothing really putting one above the other - apart from RTS showing a great trajectory and building on what's been a very sound all around game. Tupaea as the experienced option is ridiculous, especially with the inconsistency he's shown, not to mention dodgy defence and now a penchant for dickishness that would get punished at international level. Who looks like the wise old head out of RTS and Tupaea?

So, you'd be the man for this question - when will Fakatava be eligible for the ABs?

@Frank he's eligible, question is will he be selected for the Irish series, there's 5 halfbacks in contention & most likely 3 spots

He'll be in. Our halfbacks are average outside of Aaron Smith.

@Frank I think Christie has made huge strides this year, has been a massive part of the good in the Blues, I reckon the AB coaches will have noticed this too, he wont be discarded.

For my mind, the Irish will see Smith, Christie and Weber, TJ for the Maori.

While Fakatava may have the highest ceiling, we know the AB coaches arent quick to bin people, Smith is Smith, Christie aside from some headless stuff last night, has been very good this year, Weber looked good for the Chiefs...will Foster & Co drop one of them to make room for Fakatava? I have my doubts.

They are fuckin mugs if they don't pick him.
He has clearly got a far higher ceiling than the others.

@taniwharugby the three you've picked are all pretty similar players, so I think they'll definitely go with Fakatava for variation (and he's fucking good), meaning one of Weber or Christie's heads will be on the block.

@Gunner well I'm saying what I think they will do, not what I would do.

It would be a bit of a change from how they usually do things....

While I agree with you @taniwharugby, Weber is old an wildy inconsistent, I'd be pretty fucked off if we chose him as our 3rd halfback in a home test series.

@No-Quarter That was a really bad miss by JB on Simone for his try.

But as I've said, I would like to see him used at 12 in one of the Irish tests. We won't know unless he is given an opportunity in that position.

Smith, Christie and Fakatava for the 3 halfbacks. All offer something different. The selection of TJP would mean Foster and co haven't learnt anything from 2021. You can't play the game at speed with him at halfback. He and Weber for the Māori.
