All Blacks 2022

@Victor-Meldrew IIRC, they said it depends on whether Blackadder will need surgery or not. If not, his absence may not be that long.
-
I really hope they back the new generation of props. De groot newell etc.
Also: just stick RTS in, he looks the goods at 12. I’d keep JB at 15 and have Jordan and Reece on the wings.
-
Halves are easy imo.
9: smith, fakatava, Christie
10: Barrett, Mounga, perofeta -

He looks a talent, but way too early to say if RTS is the goods or not. Need more than 8 or so games at top level before we can make that assessment IMHO.
Reiko and either JG or QT will be the likely 13/12 combination.
-
@Victor-Meldrew yeah, cos Quinn has just oodles more experience and form, as does Jack...
Same reason we should pick Frizzel over Akira. And Ennor over Faingaanuku.

Seems like Daltons injury is appendicitis. Any body know how long it take to recover from that?

RTS is possibly a year too late to force his way in as a starter unless there are injuries that give him a foot in the door. He'll be a squaddie for sure but The coaches/selectors have said that they spent last year looking for depth and this year will be consolidation and combination.
I agree that he is playing well but he also gets the press attention because of his history.
I would have no issues with him in the ABs this year but can also see that QT was invested in last year, has stepped up a notch this year and is performing just as well.
I do hope that we get in a situation against Ireland where we can put him on the bench and give him a crack though. -

He had keyhole surgery apparently so hopefully not too long.

Google says 2 to 3 weeks.
-
Dermody confirmed the groin injury to All Black halfback Aaron Smith was a “two-to-three weeker”, but felt his replacement, and national squad contender, Folau Fakatava had done a fine job in his stead.

Might be a bit different into Pro rugby! But hopefully he's fit for Ireland, the fact he was at the game last night is a good sign

That's not my argument.
Plenty of examples of players new to Union looking like a million dollars after a few games, getting quickly exposed at Test level and getting their careers stuffed.
Heck, SBW was touted as the second coming in '10 but had to be subbed against Wales after 40 minutes - and that was after 40 or so games with Toulon under Tana.
-
@Victor-Meldrew yeah SBWs career was pretty stuffed after that 😁

I think the fact the selectors didn't pick him as first choice 12 or 13 after a handful of matches at Toulon might have had something to do with it.

My memory might be failing me, but didn't SBW play at 6 in France?

I don’t think SBW was ever rated as the ‘answer’.
But there were a couple of leaguies who made the Wallabies side the season after they left league - Andrew Walker and Mat Rogers. And that was during a time when there was quality backs still playing in green and yellow

Mainly at centre according to the inter-web thingy.

The argument for RTS would be the cohesion argument of 10 Beaudy 12 RTS 13 Rieko
Isn't that the same argument for 10 Mo'unga, 12 Havili & 13 Goodhue/Ennor?
