Wow. I just looked up the scorecard
Still needed 17 in the last over, got it done with a ball to spare
Was only a small ground & great wicket to bat on... brilliant clean striking from Bracewell though

Yeah, it is a small ground. He would have probably been several times playing the same innings at the Basin. It was an amazing watch though as I was sure the Firebirds were going to lose after Neesham got out. With the help of Gibson and van Beek, Bracewell managed to keep us within striking distance and after the 15th over it actually looked like we could win with an over to spare. A few twists at the end made the game even more exciting especially when 17 was still required off the last over.

@mn5 lovely wee ground. Only about 40 in though,50 over isn't a drawcard.
Better if the beer tent was open!
I always make a point of having a stroll through there when up in the naki for work. Pretty terrifying to think what totals some international big hitters would rack up if given a chance though !

Micheal Bracewell just played one of the most amazing innings I have ever seen.
Firebirds were chasing 227 and were 43 for 5 at one stage and somehow he pulled off a miraculous innings of 141 off 65 balls. Apparently the highest T20 score ever in NZ.
This was a great game. Absolutely awesome to watch. There have been some really good super smash games to watch this summer. Much preferring it over BBL

To even lower level domestic cricket......I follow our local Premier side pretty closely as son also plays for Takapuna and a fella I know is one of the openers (when he is in NZ anyway - back here for summer ahead of the Netherlands series against our Black Caps).
T20 game against East Coast Bays last night down at Onewa. ECB off to a flyer and were 100 or so / 1 after 10 but faltered abit to only make 154/6. Taka were slow on the chase but were always there abouts. They evened things up at 154/6 after the first ball of the final over. Then wicket wicket and 154/8 with the number 10 batsmen coming to the crease. First ball whack 6! So good! Nice watch on a weds evening with a few bevvies down the park

Big game today between the Aces and Firebirds with the winner almost wrapping up third spot in the Super Smash with one round to go.
The Firebirds welcome back Conway and Blundell which will be a massive boost to their chances, especially considering F Allen has been more cold than hot this season at the top of the order.

Son of Chris is known as having huge potential locally. A quick Google this morning suggests that he's not the only one on the way to join Sons of Rod, Ken, Brendon, and co in the higher levels of NZ cricket.
Sons of former Black Caps do fathers proud
You know you are getting old when a Cumming, a Pringle and a Bond all feature but it does not involve a Craig, a Chris or a Shane.
Jacob Cumming, Tim Pringle and Ryan Bond all had days to remember on the cricket field.
Cumming scored an undefeated century to guide the New Zealand Development side to a seven-wicket win against Central Districts A in Napier yesterday.
Cumming, who plays for Otago A and is the son of former New Zealand opener Craig, stroked 133 from 216 deliveries and combined in a 172-run opening stand with Matthew Boyle (88).
The 18-year-old scored 59 in the first innings of the three-day game as well.
Another famous surname featured strongly during that match.
Left arm spinner Tim Pringle, son of former Black Cap Chris Pringle, took six for 50 for the New Zealand Development side in the second innings to help set up the win.
Meanwhile, Ryan Bond (13) scored 44 from 30 balls and took two for three for the unbeaten Christchurch Black on day three of the South Island primary schools tournament in Alexandra yesterday.
Christchurch Red and Canterbury Country White also remain unbeaten after six games.
- Otago was well-beaten by Central Districts in its final match at the womenโs under-19 tournament in Canterbury yesterday.
Otago posted 123 for nine from its 20 overs. Isy Parry and Harriett Cuttance top scored with 24 apiece.
But Central cruised to a five-wicket win with more than three overs to spare. Chloe Deerness shone with the ball for Otago again, picking up a couple of wickets to complete a strong tournament.
Otago won two of its six games and finished in fourth place.
- George Worker scored 132 from 142 balls and Lockie Ferguson took six for 34 to help secure a 47-run win for the Auckland Aces against Northern Districts in a one-dayer in Auckland yesterday.
The Aces posted 303 for seven and reduced the visitors to 37 for four. Coilin de Grandhomme thumped 126 from 104 balls but Northern was dismissed for 256 in the 40th over.

@jk I watched some of that stuck in the traffic sewer that was Northcote Rd last night. I was really wishing I could park and go over and get closer to the action. Few things beat half watching park cricket in the sunshine.
hah yeah its a great watch. They play a pretty fast tempo game too and seem to rip thru the overs quickly.
And what time was that? I was there 530ish and traffic was light then shot off for beers and some feed before returning for the second innings. Traffic wasnt bad either time so assuming closer to 6 or so.
I see they lost to North Shore in the first game. Big rivally there. I couldnt attend the game as was still away.

Two questions....
-
Wonder what Chris Pringle thinks of his son being a spin bowler? I'm sure he's proud regardless but it would be like an all black forward having a kid who plays in the backs
-
Whats 13 year old doing at primary? No wonder he's doing well (at cricket anyway)
