Send them back out there again. We might be five down again by the close of play.
Have to play aggressively on that wkt or out for 62 again.
They are in 2 minds defend or be positive,Use your feet set up on off stump a bit more too the offies to break up their length a bit,
Can’t play with hard hands on the crease line to the ball spinning that much . -

And Jamieson has a big swing and that's that.
@chris said in NZ tour of India:
You will find Williamson has a massive say in selections, in fact the driving force in selecting the team more than Stead.
Then the non playing Captain also has a bit to answer for.
A mate of mine who I do a lot of coaching with here in Australia when he is here,
Has a coaching role within the Black caps set up.
He tells me Kane has a strong hand in selections. As you'd expect right?

Absolutely the Captain knows what and how he wants to implement tactics,He has control on the field.
Coach has to back the Captain. -

Talk about highs and lows - from Patel's record effort to another record effort with the bat as NZ is dismissed for the lowest test innings total against India.

I'd like to know about coach Stead, is he highly regarded at all, or just fortunate to inherit a Golden generation of NZ players?

I think he is good as a man manager,I know my mate likes working with him.
Kane has a strong say in things as it should be.
In cricket the Captains weld a lot of power.
Once Kane hits the field it’s his show. -

Once Kane hits the field it’s his show.Really, so what do you know about the internal rift that developed within camp with how Stead very poorly 'managed' his players for the SCG test by dropping his most effective bowler against the Aussies in Southee? I think he's a supremely average coach who's considerably out of his depth at the international level.
-
I have no doubt Kane is picking his XIs. But the central contracting and squad selection is Larsen/Stead and that is where most of the issues have been.
I'd be curious to know how Stead rates I'm Kane's mind after work with Gillespie at Yorkshire and Bayliss at SRH.

Southee made himself unavailable after Stead made Latham skipper for the match.
And for the 1000th time, have a look at when Southee took his wickets in those two tests.

62 all out. Fuck a duck that’s embarrassing
FYB!
No one born in NZ has taken a single wicket this test.
You’d think that top order was Hartland, Pocock, Fulton, How and Broom the way they played….

Good article this. Wisden do some decent stuff when they’re not wanking on about Ben Stokes….
The question for me will be whether this is the start of a truly great career or an average player having one absolutely extraordinary moment……
We’ll see
Well, given that is already 33 and can't bat as well as Vettori I don't he'll get the chances required. Given our schedule, there's a good chance he won't play another test until next November.

A full time spinner doesn't justify a spot in NZ tests. If Ravindra can roll his arm over a bit it makes Patel's chances even less
