Also, what number was Cooksley?
Him! Ultimately forgettable.
I am the least physical person I know and managed to manhandle the biggest person to ever play for the All Blacks.
This is not a skite BTW. It's a judgement on how good or otherwise, Cooksley was.

@voodoo before I post these quizzes I write down as many names as I can remember then do the research.
Between 1-30 I only missed Waller.
Between 31-40 I missed Fromont and Gordon.
From 41-50 I only got Whetton, Tregaskis, Earl, Haden -

Perhaps you’re selling yourself short. I’m sure I remember reading Cooksley knocked someone out with a single punch on the field once ( maybe Todd Blackadder said it )

@Nepia Does Mike McCool fit in there somewhere?

@Nepia Does Mike McCool fit in there somewhere?
1979 looks to be a year or two before the period.
Edit: perhaps a year or 7 ... ? Without any research Haden I'm pretty sure played in 1986 post Cavaliers tour.

That last 50 locks list concluded with the 1984 Aussie tour.

So, 51st would gave been Big Red's dad. Or Braid senior. 1983 tour to Eng & Sco minus our tight five.
You mean the Gary Braid listed at 50 already?
My bad. .... didn't read that, just read 1984 aus tour as cutoff.
Actually, I'd be wrong anyway. Andy Haden would be 51st on the list with Alistair Robindon 52nd.
Haden played France home tests in 1984 but then missed the 84 Aussie tour for 'professionalism protest' reasons.
Steve Cutler cleaned out our Haden-less lineout in test one, but paid the price in test 2 by having his head rucked open. I guess somethings have gotten better in this sport ...
-
I am surprised Hemopo is so far up the list. Seems like it's been ages since he has been around.
Shame he took off so early.

You mean a different Andy Haden to the one numbered 49th on the list?
I postulated above, without checking, that Haden would have played post Cavaliers, in 1986. But I need to check.
Off to Google.
