Where's all the love for Akira gone? And the hate for Blackadder?
There was plenty of people liking Blackadder last week. Akira was one of many that didn’t have a the greatest game, at least he came back in the second half.
He’ll be back to normal next week. As will many of the others who making little mistakes.
If Bridge gets selected after that performance though…
Yeah dunno. He hasn't played against this style before, and it doesn't suit his game at all. Let's keep picking him against sides that we can play free-flowing rugby against, but there's better options for these tight physical games.
I didn't spot many complementing blackadder last week, at least not on here.

@kirwan Sp you'd take away the best player for the ABs tonight, Blackadder. Mmm...
I'd like to see Blackaddere starting at 6, Papaplii at 7 if fit, Ardie at 8, with Akira on the bench.
Nurture and reward the progress Blackadder is making and play him in his preferred position. Also good opportunity to see whether Akira is maybe better as an impact player than as a starter. -

Akira did OK. He will be much better for the experience.
What did he do OK?

Thought not.

I'm still staggered Jordan got pulled. He was brilliant attacking (like usual). Bridge doesn't score the try outside Codie
And losing that ball in the tackle from Kolisi, is understandable, that was some hit. Kolisi looked like a beast in the highlights I have seen so far.

@delicatessen Dominant tackles.

What did he do OK?
Defended well, mauled well, was moving bodies at the ruck. All the tight stuff you don’t think he does.
Got close to turning poor ball into a try as well.

How the hell can you tell if he mauled well? I mean you can tell if he was particularly bad, granted, but beyond that?
Sorry when are you referring to with the try?

You can't ahve read much then. A few thought the sun shone out of him, most praised his workrate, but were less impressed with the accuracy and conceding penalties. PLenty of good attributes to work on.
This week he was excellent.

I read the whole thread. Most were saying he tried too hard and needed to tone it back which I was baffled by.
Anyway now I'm getting pissed of at the fern for ferning. That's a great use of a weekend 😅

There was messy ball in the second half that he cleaned up, had a nice run that got to within a metre of the line.
As for the maul, watch his body position and what happens when he joins. His power gets the thing moving, and he defends it well too, some of his Blues play is defending mauls.
