I'm looking forward to Monday - to confirm who's actually more incompetent:
World Rugby - because this shouldn't be a misundersatnding in the media; should be a clearly communicated outcome that people know.
Also, why the hell don't WR publish interim results as games come through? No rpoblem with the 'official rankings' being weekly on a Monday, but FFS we don't know who the World No 1 is right now. Amateur hour.
Yes we do, South Africa are World Ranked Number 1. And will be until at least luchtime Monday UK time. Weekly updates from WR is pretty fast for them! Lucky it is not sent out yearly by paper mail

I was surpised at the stats for Jordie's kicking success rate: 68% before he missed one. Then I thought, well maybe they give him the more difficult, long range ones.. That minor grump aside, for me he is the starter, but why does he ALWAYS have to be the designated linebreaker for the 9? Can't they get a surprize factor in there? And who is should be the second 15? As DMac AND BB look makeshift there IMO..
I like Jordan as a wing too but I noticed as he well he is normally out of position but I guess that is a factor in his rampant opportunism which I like to see in wing.
His counterpart though, Bridge, played solidly, was designated hospital pass receiver, didn't screw up taking it into contact which seems to be his job rather than actually make a tackle-but is he the right sort of build to be that person?Midfield, I think we have 4 I am happy with! Tupea looks good still, has some workons positioning/tackling though. Good to see R Ioane is still controversial whether he plays.
Nice pass but I still think Enigma Ennor is a foodbill, have not seen enough.
DMac played better than I thought, did crab once or twice, was great at key turnovers, don't remember him taking the ball up, generally linked well, would have been nice to see a few more splitting the line moments but those weren
the tactics and I suspect he has lost a little electric car acceleration ...As soon as Christie came on the play became disjointed and he has the physicality of ... well it ain't his key virtue. He gets to the ruck faster than TJP, passes faster, but the overall movement seems to have slowed? Perhaps TJP is more decisive..
Good game from Sotutu, did tire, but I so admire his athletic ability and sweet passing. Hope he can challenge Jacobson for the spot because it would be good to have two test-ready 8s. Yes Ardie, Dalton or AIoane could play there but only Ardie seems to be trusted at the moment at 8 (with Jacobson) I still prefer him at 7.
But at 6, while Blackadder did some great things, he is still a bit al over the place - probably most likely forward to help a team mate over the try line but back in the pack for me.
The real issue is at lock, still daylight between Whitelock Retallick and the others (didn't notice SB make his usual one per game clanger and he still takes the 3rd spot for hard work) and Vaa'i had a good game but was hit and miss coming off the bench in earlier games, may have a consistency issue. Sorry Patty T but you still seem to be waiting for a bus between rucks.
Props, Moody all day long and Lomax looked like a starter to me. The only concern I have for Samsoni is how he can keep his fitness as he ages-he's carrying quite a bit of beef there. Massive impact player.
Shoutout to Argentina for their hooker factory, and bitchy halfbacks (wanted to slap him myself. Milk that penalty-inducing face, son!)

Good win, now let’s show the Boks who’s the real no 1.
But they’re so physical. And have you seen the size of them?
Will they be at full strength though?
They'd be unbeatable if they are

@bones Yeah, credit goes to Plumtree for me. The forwards look great with everyone putting their hand up. The Fiji tests i feel was a real good wake up call for the side where found out a lot about the side which is quite funny as a lot of people were slating the series, but it did quite the opposite for this team.
Maybe Fiji were actually quite good?

Their forwards definitely were.

Well clearly. They wouldn't lose with a full strength side against a Foster coached team.

Wow, there are some optimists here about Blackadder.
How many players turn their games around, aged 26? It's not like he's come from league or had a series of bad injuries. He missed a lot of tackles and he's going to keep doing that because he doesn't position himself as well as a test player needs to. And that many penalties -- in a team trying to work on their penalty count -- is inexcusable.
When Frizzell first came onto the scene there were an awful lot of "if he does this ... " and "he'll get better with experience" too. At least he was young, and physically imposing.
Frizzell was never physically imposing at test level.

I just watched it again. I call absolute 100% BS about Blackadder. He had an outstanding game! Talk about following a bandwagon full of shite! Every pundit outside of this parallel universe says he had a good game. Open your friggen eyes!

Signed newlywed Mrs. BlackadderEarlier this year, you posted a full throated defence of Frizzell as a test match player based upon a couple of Super Rugby games. Your defence of Blackadder is less absurd, but is still ridiculous given that you haven't accounted for any of his obvious mistakes.
Oh yes, you're also the guy who thinks that George Bridge is a really good wing.
I don't understand guys like you who really get behind obviously substandard players.

@tim said in All Blacks vs Pumas II:
@bones That was a long, long time ago, and I came around quickly.
You should mainly trust me on forwards, anyway.
I'm far from sold on Blackadder and less so on Bridge, but if the former can build on his huge workrate to add accuracy (in a similar manner to Savea/Taylor early on) and the latter can build on his huge workrate and carrying ability to refine his option taking and ability to beat defenders (as we've seen at lower levels and by guys like ALB) then we could end up with a very handy and reliable couple of squad members that we're comfortable to see thrown a start out of the blue in case of injury, etc.
-
@tim Yeah, I didn't think Frizzell was bad but you are also cherry-picking because I also stated Akira was miles ahead ( go back and read again).
Tell me one thing George Bridge did wrong yesterday, one thing! Positioning, defense, and taking the high ball was great. But yeah, his lack of dynamism is quite clear in his current form. And again, it is obvious the Reiko is one person who should be first on the teamsheet and is by far the best No. 11 in the ABs (actually would say any team in the world).
I completely refute your claim saying those players are substandard unless you also include at least 60% (?)of all the other members of the ABs.
And Blackadder played bloody well! -

I defended him earlier, but I did also acknowledge the many missed tackles he's been responsible for.
Some posters have this weird idea that pointing out 5 missed tackles makes one biased? It's very weird.

I mean, you could make it hard, maybe try and temper your defence? He knocked the ball on off a great inside ball for his very first touch. Killed a potential try, Argie were in trouble.
