All Blacks vs Pumas II

@act-crusader sum of the parts will be the key though. Still very much a team game.
Yeah still some very good pieces there.
I like the front row. A little worried about the locking pair, but Tui has experience so that’s something.
Back row have 2 work horses and a damaging ball runner.
9 and 10 - hold ya breath kids 😉
The midfield could be explosive but worry about defence and communication coming together.
Back 3 - George to score a double

Richard Knowler's question sums up nz rugby journalism.
Richard Knowler "Just one specialist lock on the bench in Scott Barrett, does that mean Luke Jacobson is covering the engine room?"
Fozzie: "......."

@l_n_p have you guys ever watched NRL? Their playmakers (who are far better than Union playmakers imo) just about run sideways more than they run forward… if you’re fast enough and agile enough then running across field occasionally can cause a defence to bite out of the line, leaving holes. If the space is there in front of him, he takes it by running straight. If it’s not there then he tries to create something but changing running lines.
-
@act-crusader you and your optimism.
I saw the team and thought yuck. Felt a bit sorry for the likes of Jordan and Jordie who are fighting for a spot and have to do it outside a mish-mash team.
I expect us to win and will be livid if we lose. But if this team clicks and looks gooood, well that's fucken fantastic and I will only be left with about half a leg dangling off the Fozzy bandwagon. Ok maybe a whole leg.

Can't say I see a lot of union playmakers in league. Is DC on a jolly?
-
@yeahtheboys said in All Blacks vs Pumas II:
@bones huh
How can they possibly be better than union playmakers? They don't play union - and vice versa.

@chris-b Rieko drop in form? Injured. Akira drop in form? Injured. Tuipulotu drop in form? Injured.
I'm sure there's a pattern but I just can't see it.
It’s a sign of a bad argument when you have to make things up.
Have discussed RI and CC injuries as an explanation of a drop off in form, when that factor wasn’t being considered when the copped criticism. Foster even brought up the RI calf injury last week.
Never said that about Akira, not once.
Patrick? Man you are reaching now.

I'm all about a bad argument. I'm not so keen on selecting players who are playing poop. Until they're not playing poop that is.

ABs commonly select players coming back from injuries, or keep them in the squad. Ofa, Patrick, Moody are just a few recent examples.

Unless they've been overtaken by other players.

@nepia Sotutu is a curious case. IMO he was the or in top 3 Number 8's in Super Rugby but then got surpassed by Jacobson. Now Blackadder has leapt frogged him in the squad due to his versatility.
Blackadder has leapfrogged him because he’s playing better.

Kinda #booboo'ed meself.
Reminds me of something back in the day when TSF 'legend' Red Beard bigged up a column by loigue 'legend' Graham Lowe, whose point was basically the All Blacks props didn't do as many many hit ups as loigue props, therefore they was not as good 'footballers' as the loiguies.
I do recall asking how many greens they hit in regulation, or what their free throw percentage was.
They are different games.

Given this “short sharp 7 day lockdown” in Melbourne has now been going for 6 weeks, the ABs bring some optimism!
Mark Ranby, Stephen Bates, Caleb Ralph, David Hill and Ben Atiga could be running out for the ABs this weekend and I’d find a positive

@act-crusader you missed George Bridge.
