I have some sympathy for the guy as he shouldn't have been there in the first place.
We knew this 5 years ago. NZRU did not.
If he does resign I imagine it will be because of family reasons etc etc.
Give the man some credit. If he is going to fall on his sword it won't be a sham. I think he would do it early and 'in the best interests' of the team.
The complicating factor is if his assistants and linked to his contract and that he wouldn't leave them in the lurch I think.I don't see where credit is due.
Who the hell comes out and says the team has progressed this year? He is in a dream world. I would hate to see what we looked liked if he though we were regressing.
Massively out of his league
He is not going to doubt himself or the team's progress publicly. We had a coach who did that once and then we ended up with John Mitchell and a journey.

Fair, except when the Cartel knew they were getting it wrong in the forwards and at line out time, they were really clear about it. I appreciated the way they responded to negative feedback by taking it onboard and showing that they would respond (and they did).

The Cartel wasn't perfect, the avoidance of lineouts against the Boks in 2009 drove me up the friggen wall, but you saw visible improvements after each loss or change over a time in reaction to issues.
FFS, we are still struggling with things that came up in 2016/2017. 2020 was a nightmare, the same old problems occur in 2021, good players have suddenly become average or even shite...... something isn't right in dodge! -

Our attack is utter rubbish. Attack coach can go
Our breakdown work is substandard. Our forwards "positioning" is not useful. Our set piece creaks. The forwards coach can go
Our defense is alright, but i am seeing good players make bad decisions so something is not working. The defense coach can go.
Our skills have regressed, significantly. our passing was once a strength is no longer class leading. We kick very poorly. We knock on a lot. Skills coach can go.
Aura is weak, the Motivation coach can go.
Advertising and promotion is shoddy, the Marketing Manager can go.
I’ve heard the post game food is rubbish, the Caterer can go too.

I really shouldn't read or watch about foster, it just makes me angry
From the breakdown "“You've got to go through some of these lessons sometimes as an All Black team,” he said. “It’s not like this is a fully established [team] with experience right across the board."
Fuck sake, look at the ages and experience of the French versus the ABs, our team is fucking old with heaps of caps and 30+ years. A lot of the French are under 25
Accountable my arse, he's responsible but won't be held to account

Some very good past ABs would call that a career!

I've no idea what parts of the game we've made significant growth in. Admittedly I'm not a sought after international coach with an impeccable pedigree, but from my ignorant perspective nothing has improved.
Losses as a percentage of annual Tests?
Average margin versus Wallabies?
-
Foster seems to be seeing a different game to the one the average punter is. He is seeing certain growth, we are seeing stagnation. He is seeing small margins where the game could of been won, we are seeing a team thoroughly beaten. He is seeing player development, we are seeing good players turning to shite, etc. We aren't seeing any innovation, a gameplan or anything much else, just the same old thing for the last 2 years.
The worrying sign is that he doesn't verbalize any of the problems we see right in front of our faces. -
To be fair, from our 2nd try right up until the intercept i thought we would win on Sunday.
The week before we were a couple of degrees on a forward pass from winning.
Our loss to SA was a very late penalty (so was our win to be fair)
so for all our wailing and gnashing of teeth, and issues we can all see, a couple of better moments from players and we are unbeaten all year.

nah, he has a point. Despite us being pants, we could have burgled a few wins from the losses. It wouldn't represent the game, but it would be a great escape. Kinda like England 2019 -- we weren't in that game, but had a chance to actually snatch it.
