Poll: Foster reappointment

Alright folks, time to put your money where your mouth is.
I'm still firmly of the opinion I've seen enough that I'd be looking to move on from Foster. I don't think he has developed much of our game, and selections have been consistently haphazard. To me, on his body of work, he should be gooooooorne
How many tests has he been in charge of? Is it 11? And 6 of those have been against the Aussies.
Hasn’t had the opportunity to play a NH opponent or the Boks yet.
I think things have developed in our game plan, but I don’t underestimate the fact that you do need different opponents to challenge and expand you.
Also I don’t think selections have been any different in terms of changes, experiments and new players, as previous coaches starting out. Some have worked out better than others but in my view that’s all part of it.
I’m also doubtful at this point there is someone that will ‘shake things up’ as has been mentioned.
I’m with the Aussie bloke, Fozzie all the way 😃

I cant see the poll anymore but i think I voted direct replacement and rejig assistants.
Every other decent coach (other than Razor) has a significant contract they wont break to take this, as that impacts their own brand.
I cant see any of this happening mind you..
-
If that game ends up being Foster's version of the 2004 France fixture, I will conduct a volte face and sing his praises from the nearest hill.
-
@nzzp if Foster says Bridge is part of the AB family then yes (the family seems to include Frizzel, Bower, Ta'avao, DMac as starting fullback and Jordie as a premiere starting wing).
Interesting so many re happy to keep Foster but replace his assistants.
I'm happy with that if we can also replace the person who chose the wrong assistants, time for some "responsibility."
Oh, that would be Foster you say? Oh well. -

what we’ll probably need to win the RWC is someone who can come in and quickly shake things up
The longer they wait the easier it will be to make calls on the class of 2013 and Whitelock too. That would have leadership implications. Hansen was not capable of making the calls on Read and SBW that needed to be made, I doubt Foster is either.
I would actually think that, in the circumstances of a "rescue mission", a guy like Whitelock would be absolutely invaluable. Even if he's well past it by that time, I would still think he'd be capable of one last go under a new coaching regime and game plan - even if it was just to sit on the bench and come on late in a knockout match to provide a claim head (see, for example, England's heroes of 2003 and what they then did in 2007).

depends - does he think Bridge is one of our premier wingers or not?
If Robertson was the AB coach do you seriously think he wouldn't have selected Bridge in his squad? And he would have picked Bridge ahead of Clarke last year too.
The problem with having a coach going straight from a Super/provincial team to coach the ABs is that they tend to revert to selecting the players they know and are most familiar with. We saw that with Mains and Thorburn in the early 1990s and Mitchell and Deans with the Cantablacks.

Other than Robertson, who else would put their hands up?
Gatland
MacdonaldThe best coaches didn't even bother applying last time (which tells you something abuot the process): Joseph, Rennie, Brown
Rennie certainly had an impressive record with Glasgow and now the wallabies. Overrated much?

Robertson is pretty consultative (still reading my emails Razor…) and I reckon he would’ve been on the phone quick smart with Rangi about the Blues players that he would’ve been eyeing out.
And let’s get the facts right about Mitchell and Deans, they did select Maling, Willis, Douggie and Tana 😎

Plus the Myth, correct? And Mealamu? And McCaw of course. And Carter. You can say a lot about those crazy bastards but they got the process started for what happened in 2011.

Indeed. But many get stuck on their first full year of 2002.

@bovidae exactly.
Who was it on here a while back that was spouting that the inside word was the Crusaders didn't rate Akira at all and they wouldn't select him even if he was available to them? Lol.
Was it Shark? I could be well be wrong though.

@kiwimurph Chchfanatic wasn't it? He was going on about how they prefer guys like Luke Whitelock and how they would laugh at Akira. TBF, he is pretty accurate with his information but yeah, there's clearly no love for him in Chch.

and dropped Christian. For that, I will always wallow in bitterness, bile and anger when I think of The Journey
