P.S. Loving the angst on here from you guys - history has shown that the ABs might have a shit first up run against the Wallabies, then turn on the afterburners in game 2 and fucking slaughter us.
You know who our coach is right?

@mariner4life said in All Blacks vs Wallabies Bledisloe 2 Eden Park 14th Aug:
like it or not, Ioane is the best centre available.
Problem based on last week is, he's not going to straighten the attack, his main weapo is the outside shoulder. So someone else is going to have to do it. Based on recent history, that person doesn't exist. So, as unfair as it is, Havili needs to step up and shoulder the responsibility, despite still having his training wheels on.
Those wiiiiide loose forwards may as well stand next to the touchie if everyone doesn't sort their fucking act out.
Are you sure?

Stop being humble. It does not become you or any Wallabies fan.

in the past though we have played somewhere else, and then gone to Eden Park
This time we are still at Eden Park, and i read today that we lost our frikken aura again (worse than my kids, seriously) and the young Aussies have absolutely no pressure on them.

ALB having a "knock to the knee" doesn't explain why a guy who isn't a #8 is playing at #8.
In case you missed me pointing it out earlier - I distinctly heard Foster say that for them, Ardie is a #8 who can also play #7.
Don't expect to see a change any time soon, unless Jacobson can somehow force his way in.
It's the problem with having three very good 7s - Foster will be continually tempted to try to cram them into the team.

I think it's just that they aren't comfortable having 3 loosies without many Tests. So Ardie will be in the trio until a 'safe' game or later in the year when the experience has built up
Until then I doubt we see the form trio of Papali'i/Jacobson/Ioane

i could get with that, except we are playing Hooper and a couple of absolute babies for the Wallabies. This is the perfect time. Especially when they are operating "between" absolute super star veterans at 4,5 and 9

Ironically Ardie was the one who looked more like a rookie last week. The other two were solid as.

Blackadder should get game time, too. I guess that may happen if Bled 3 is a dead rubber and/or against the Pumas.
Risky, foster has a50% record against the puma
-
@duluth Certainly experience will be a factor in Ardie being preferred for now, but longer term - when Cane comes back - if they've designated all of Cane, PapaliĆ and Savea as 7s - one of them would be close to surplus to requirements - especially in a RWC squad.

@stargazer said in All Blacks vs Wallabies Bledisloe 2 Eden Park 14th Aug:
@chris-b It's sad, but with his injury history, Cane may not make the 2023 RWC squad.
Well, we cross that bridge when we come to it.
But, there's quite a lot of history of people being written off with repeated injuries, but eventually continuing on their own terms. McCaw, Leon MacDonald, Conrad Smith - all looked a bit dodgy at times.

OMG - he seriously said that?
Yup, same as Beaudy shoe horned nto 15, Ardie has been the same for ABs recently and canes too, with Kirifi

They also took journeyman Matt Todd to the last RWC so I wouldn't be too quick to rule out them taking 3 pretty decent 7's to the next world cup.
And, if they picked the team tomorrow and everyone was fit, I'd expect Cane and Ardie to be certainties - and PapaliĆ joining them a very good chance. But, Ardie would be listed as an 8/utility.
At the last RWC Ardie started as a 6, played a game at 8 and only started at 7 in the game vs England.

He certainly did. Pretty sure it must have been in the post match comments after Ardie played 7 vs Fiji.
I posted it on here at the time.
