@bones If a time-shift had occurred and Eden Park was transported back 25 years ago, I would have fucking loved to have seen biff tonight.
@Kirwan would have run on and cleaned up. So manly.

Whisper it not, but in the 2nd 40, Foster's ABs are starting to look and play like a really good team.
Heresy

For Taylor's first try, Akira Ioane got mediocre ball but attracted 3 defenders and got over the advantage line with a fairly quick recycle. Whitelock came in with a hell of a cleanout, which helped create space for Smith. Oz were also very slack on covering the blindside. Space seen, heads-up play activated, gas off the mark, great try.
That clean-out from Whitelock was fucking beautiful.
Also, that dumb aussie trying to go for the ball when it came out of the ruck.

Ta'avao is THAT shit
I could copy and paste this every week.
I love him but heโs not good enough to be an All Black.
Foster
And your alternative is?

@gt12 said in All Blacks vs Wallabies Bledisloe 2 Eden Park 14th Aug:
I absolutely love seeing Akira in the midfield like that.
Can't possibly gave been coached to do that ...
(Can't wait to catch up to the thread where I pilloried for suggesting the coaches had anything to do with a 35 point win.)

I remember in the build up to the 2011 world cup, old poster French Sniper was interviewed on NZ sports radio, and made the moronic claim that NZ wouldn't win because we just didn't have the tight forwards, especially the locks. I thought: "Okay fucknuts, when has France had a better lock in the professional era than Whitelock?" Never. And don't forget Thorn, Woodcock, Mealamu, and Franks. Retard.

Reiko better on wing
Yep. But who was the better alternative at 13 this week?
Thin stocks. He is a fine player and his best position is wing.

@bones It will be framed on my office wall and a core part of the curriculum for every class I teach.
When I was a TA (and setting the exams) in grad school in the US, I used to start every final with "Who is the greatest second five in rugby history?"
The answer, of course, was Lee Stensness.

On a serious note, they were controlled, disciplined, accurate and played as a unit. The interplay between the backs and forwards was really good and the senior players stepped up when things weren't going well - Ritchies' tackle or Whitelock's cleanout
And Reiko has some good and bad touches (like Dmac), but seemed to be taking responsibility in the midfield, talking to Havilli and the wings between plays. Considering the rookie combination, the midfield did OK and Reiko deserves credit for that.
I think Foster's team could be heading in the right direction
