@foobanz IMO, if he gets back into coaching, even if it has to be at the 'canes, that'll be good for NZ Rugby!
I'd rather the AB's do an SOS to him and pay a premium that he can't ignore and then takes over.
He's stated many times that being a head coach doesn't suit him.
He's welcome to take over the attack and defence though.

Smith or Jo would be the dream. Or both together lol.
Here's a nightmare scenario for all civilised NZ Rugby fans.
- Foster is out (yay).
- Robertson gets the ABs (yay)
- Crusaders get Jo/Smith or both (boo)
Foster is out
Gatland is in.Now that would shit me.

Sorry I wasn't very clear.
For the ABs it's great. For anyone who's not a Saders fan (civilised) it would be horrible to have Schmidt / Smith involved with the Saders if Robertson moves on.

If they make Smith the head coach and Schmidt the backs coach then it will work out fine for the rest of us - see Smith's AB head coach and Schmidt Blues backs coach tenures.
Plus, I care more about the ABs being successful than franchise rugby.

@foobanz Wayne Smith is back in the coaching circles, currently working with the Black Ferns, maybe that'll re-ignite a passion and he will want a fulltime gig...
Smith has never been out of coaching circles, he doing it in Japan and has been for a while.. He coaches the team that Retallick played for.

Let's imagine we all get what we want and Holland is out end of the year (with the rest of the coaching group).
What are the options?
I saw Ozich mentioned earlier.
A dream would be Schmidt - he is from Manawatu after all.
Any other candidates?
Mark Ozich with Paul Tito as forwards coach? or Jono Gibbes (La Rochelle), Nick Evans (Harlequins), Jason O'Halloran (Suntory), would be some excellent candidates.

O'Halloran would be excellent.

I think you may struggle getting Evans to leave Quins. He and his family are well embedded over there.
I suspect that O'Halloran is also well set in Japan and he left NZ fairly early on, probably when looking at the queue of numpties ahead of him. You never know with family situations etc.
Where did Rodders end up? He had some good early wraps on his coaching abilities.

I was curious about all the Canes tries this season, and who was involved. I'm just limiting it to the final phase or 2.
Saders
Try 1: Goosen nice break, PUJ inside ball to Love.
Try 2: Nice work from Proctor & Jordie. Sullivan dots down.
Try 3: Jordie pops over a ruck.
Try 4: JGB breaks a tackle or two at the end of the game.Blues
Try 1: Rayasi intercept.
Try 2: Sullivan nice kick through to Goosen.
Try 3: PUJ, Love & Rayasi nice interplay.
Try 4: Flanders, Iose interplay, with a great finish from Rayasi.
Try 5: Sullivan outside break, to Ardie.Highlanders
Try 1: Rakete-Stones solo effort.
Try 2: Proctor runs a good line up close.
Try 3: PUJ good break and runs outside the defenders, nice inside pass to Henry.Moana
Try 1: Good straight tackle bust and run from Jordie.
Try 2: PUJ nice inside pass to Moorby to finish.
Try 3: Nice team try, Delany to Fidow to finish.Chiefs
Try 1: TJ intercept.
Try 2: Ardie, JGB to Goosen nice try in corner.
Try 3: TJ, Proctor to Love, then nice finish by Julian.
Try 4: Ardie goes beast mode. What's interesting is that 15 tries were by backs, 3 were by forwards but from distance (ie forwards running as backs almost).
Then the last 1 was the Ardie beast mode try.
So there have been 0 "boring" forward tries by the Canes this year.
It's also clear that Rayasi and PUJ are our most dangerous backs when they are actually on the field. Barrett, Love (when at 10) & Sullivan also have heavy involvement.
Proctor is much improved too. He has some nice touches in the tries he's involved with.
