Okay, so to all the tossers, exactly what is poor about Bridges game stats???
You need to quit the teenage name calling. It doesn’t matter that you disagree, you can still put your thoughts forward without infantile remarks on adult board

Seen as this was actually a hard game to rate players on what they did well given Tonga included club players etc maybe look at the needles penalty's given as some were quite concerning and there was also a few times the AB's were offside.
I mean when the game is so easily won try to get something more out of it - does anyone have a list of all the penalty's?
-
@blackeyeagain I was surprised the count was so high as it didn't seem to feel like so many penalties, I get the feeling a few may have been at the breakdown when in possession.
I do remember the Whitelock double up at the end though, both completely unnecessary - but then maybe being so comfortably ahead changes the mindset and you know you can get away with ill discipline.

@mackerzzzz how many of them are amateur players?
Yeah like the ABs 11, how did he not score?
Reading back over the thread. Seems you started it

Christ I actually feel bad
Yeah, am glad they managed to claw it back a bit.
It was tracking at 2 points a minute (160-nil) after 20 mins.

Our 12 isn't perfect. DMac and Richie look so slick and fast against these club players but George "Did you drop a hankerchief? I'll pick it up for you and fall over" Bridge is trying to keep it close.
Actually, is Bridge still injured? He doesn't look to be running at 100%.
This. Certainly lacking zip. Am sure he can be better.

George Bridge once seemed so promising. What happened?
Bobness. The ABs bring out OG. Next I expect Fullermorg, Irish Richard or Jury.

It's been obvious all season that Bridge is in terrible form. It's been obvious for a long while he is a very limited option. And yet Foster and Co. selected him on the Left Wing for the ABs. 🤬
If I had to choose between him and Jordie..
Just to be clear my preference is neither, but you'd pick Jordie. At least he has size and a decent boot.

I have just woken in a cold sweat as I have seen the reality of Foster’s bold new strategy for the ABs.
Not only do we play two playmakers but three midfielders!
Nothing else can plain the amazing linking abilities of our left wing and the lack of desire for him to beat a man.
The plan still needs work as shown in the last minute when he unexpectedly found himself on the end of the chain with no one in front of him and wasn’t able to recycle to a loose forward.
No wonder the right wing scored all the tries. He’s the only real outside back.I actually had a similar thought during the game. That maybe Bridge would make a better midfielder than wing. Similar style to Crotty. Not particularly fast or dynamic but just dare i say it…..safe.
Whatever position he is he shouldn’t be anywhere near the ABs.The fact he was given a rating of 9 in that player rating article just demonstrates the poor quality of journalism in NZ.

Though to be frank, it's more accurate than the collective pile-in that went on on here. Reading this thread you would have thought you were watching a meltdown of Colin Farrell proportions.

@mn5 Im ok with 5 tries being an automatic 10 rating.
I’m not sure that 5 tries in a drubbing against a barely NPC level opponent deserves a “yeah boi!” though
True. Yeah boi’s should be reserved for bigger occasions.

Yeah maybe, but a group of unpaid, old/youth adjacent blokes posing as experts on an internet forum should be given a bit more slack than someone claiming to be a sports journalist.
A 5 or 6 is probably fair when compared to what others got.
So the score of 9 was 3-4 too high.
Tsf probably 3-4 too low if the comments reflect a score of 1 or 2. -

Match threads used to be worth a read, now it's like I am reading Planet Rugby. What happened to the learned posts we used to occasionally get?
