All Blacks v Tonga

@bovidae yeah wasn't flash with anything other than tucking and running, apart from that one kick chase. Good distance on his kicks, but not a lot of thought put into them it appeared. And as for linking with other players when he made a break...

Okay, so to all the tossers, exactly what is poor about Bridges game stats???
I was actually thinking this during the game - the stats for him were going to look good. Lots of runs, and metres run, in particular. The thing the stats don't show is what he did at the end of each of those runs, which was... flop down like a fish and hope the big nasty Tongans didn't tackle him.
Maybe he'd been told to do that by the coaches to avoid injury, assuming the big nasty Tongans were going to provide stereotypical big nasty physical tackles?
Just being an optimist here. -
When I saw Tupaea hitting the ball up, I thought I was watching Liam Messam. Liked his activity even if he looked a little upright and league-ish at times.

I have just woken in a cold sweat as I have seen the reality of Foster’s bold new strategy for the ABs.
Not only do we play two playmakers but three midfielders!
Nothing else can plain the amazing linking abilities of our left wing and the lack of desire for him to beat a man.
The plan still needs work as shown in the last minute when he unexpectedly found himself on the end of the chain with no one in front of him and wasn’t able to recycle to a loose forward.
No wonder the right wing scored all the tries. He’s the only real outside back. -

You need to quit the teenage name calling. It doesn’t matter that you disagree, you can still put your thoughts forward without infantile remarks on adult board

Seen as this was actually a hard game to rate players on what they did well given Tonga included club players etc maybe look at the needles penalty's given as some were quite concerning and there was also a few times the AB's were offside.
I mean when the game is so easily won try to get something more out of it - does anyone have a list of all the penalty's?
-
@blackeyeagain I was surprised the count was so high as it didn't seem to feel like so many penalties, I get the feeling a few may have been at the breakdown when in possession.
I do remember the Whitelock double up at the end though, both completely unnecessary - but then maybe being so comfortably ahead changes the mindset and you know you can get away with ill discipline.

@mackerzzzz how many of them are amateur players?
Yeah like the ABs 11, how did he not score?
Reading back over the thread. Seems you started it

Our 12 isn't perfect. DMac and Richie look so slick and fast against these club players but George "Did you drop a hankerchief? I'll pick it up for you and fall over" Bridge is trying to keep it close.
Actually, is Bridge still injured? He doesn't look to be running at 100%.
This. Certainly lacking zip. Am sure he can be better.

George Bridge once seemed so promising. What happened?
Bobness. The ABs bring out OG. Next I expect Fullermorg, Irish Richard or Jury.

It's been obvious all season that Bridge is in terrible form. It's been obvious for a long while he is a very limited option. And yet Foster and Co. selected him on the Left Wing for the ABs. 🤬
If I had to choose between him and Jordie..
Just to be clear my preference is neither, but you'd pick Jordie. At least he has size and a decent boot.

Whatever position he is he shouldn’t be anywhere near the ABs.The fact he was given a rating of 9 in that player rating article just demonstrates the poor quality of journalism in NZ.
