Formula 1 2021

nice to see F1 and the Americas Cup have so much in common
"sport" for entitled rich fluffybunnies decided in the courts.

I’m trying to imagine the level of fallout if it had been Schumacher and Ferrari rather than Hamilton and Mercedes. 😱

I both commend Team MB and Lewis while slightly concerned that Lewis has been denied an eighth world championship. Ultimately some clarity needs to come out of this regarding the race director's ability to construct a result.
One of the best things to come out of this so far is the inability of teams to bother the race director for next season.

More controversy coming up...
Not completely new but spreads further doubt and suspicion.

They were out straight after the race, but basically show that, in the words of Vettel ' he put the show above the sport' ie bent the rules to make it more exciting. The problem being it was under direct instructions from one team. A total farce

A few months on I've been doing a bit of thinking about this.
I still maintain that as a Max fan, I think he got very lucky and Lewis got the shaft. But I don't necessarily think anything fishy went down to manufacture a Max win / Lewis loss, just an unfortunate incident the way the cards played, and these things happen in sport. Huge respect to Lewis for the way he's handled it. Dignified silence.
And then I think back to Lions tour 2017. When Garces / Poite did their thing. I suspect if I was a Lions fan, I'd hold the view above. Which to be honest, most have. The media, the opposite of course.
But as an AB fan, a large part of my rugby fandom died that day. It's never returned, honestly. And I suspect thats the way Lewis fans feel.
So yeah, I'm still mixed up. And unfortunately for my boy Max, I do feel an asterix is going to be beside his name as the 2021 champion. Which isn't fair on anybody.

Yeah, it’s not like Verstappen is an unworthy champion. He’d done enough through the season to earn a championship (as had Hamilton), either would have been a deserved champion over the season. However based just on that race, you’re right Hamilton got shafted. A tense situation, a race director already under pressure for previous issues and a very vociferous team right in his ear and more to the point, in his head. I don’t blame Red Bull, they’re there to win, but what a farce.
Also Horner is a whiny bitch.

I mean, you could make that your signature, delicious irony?

Hey that's not fair. That's mean.

Being a whiny bitch is kind of a core part of Horner's job. Wolff is the same, Horner is just better.
I don't like either of the them or Max or Lewis. But I think it's good for f1 to have a serious title battle.
The obvious solution seems to be having a minimum number of clear laps before a race can end (probably one maybe two) so that all teams know what will happen and the race director doesn't have to fret about which.team he's going to hand the title to.
Still not as bad as the farce that was Spa.

So I think we can safely say, the report damned the result, so they're hiding it. If it said anything that meant the result was ok, they would've released it as originally promised. There's no way they'll change the result, so hiding it is easier. But it will probably leak, anyway, I hope so. Great way to get back public opinion
