Next week I would bring in IWL for Blackwell, Aumua for Coles, Love for Leger, Campbell/Roigard for Taumateine, Evans for Kirifi, Umaga-Jensen in for Proctor and Rayasi in for Savea.
So would every one else mate...
Just not the coaches

@mackerzzzz crazy aye.

@stag complete waste of time.
Every thing is a waste of time for you

Classic Dagg pre game analysis talking about how Salesi Rayasi is going to be a massive danger on attack tonight - obviously Dagg didn’t do his research, Rayasi’s not even in the 23.
Must be that Lindisfarne education....

Just finished the game, so random thoughts without reading the thread.
Proctor is pretty naff eh, at least on attack. He is to try scoring movements what your best cock-blocking mate us to happy endings. So I typed that before the try at 56....
Taumateine was excellent. @canes4life you have the Midas touch.
Scrafton has his socks down Nisbo.
I'm now thoroughly convinced Marshall us watching Dodgeball for commentating tips.
Ref Cooper was good, especially for a chick.
Numia might be becoming my favourite player, such a throwback and really good for a midget.
Lomax looks to have been learning off Franks already. He was brilliant at dropping half a metre before the defence. Wow.
Geez I had no idea Beauds racked up that many points.
Good on ya Wellington. Showing after last year that you won't take live rugby for granted.
Prinsep isn't even as good as Blackwell.

As much as it pains me to say this I thought Savea had a really good game maybe he’s getting into some sort of for (FYI I’m dry-retching as I type this)
As said before Taumateines link play was top notch his passing was straight out of the Justin Marshall handbook. Should be out of the 22 next week
Was really impressed with Goosen seems to have sit form should keep his place and Savea drop out
Finally was ....impressed with the coaches clearing the bench’s early so everyone got a good run, glad Holland has a semi idea of how to coach(not happy typing that)

@bones how laboured were his passes though. Definitely hope we don’t see him again. We looked so much more efficient when Roigard came on.
I think your bitterness toward your coaches and their selections is clouding your viewing. Roigard did bring impetus but it was from running not passing.
JTs game last night reminded me a lot of the way TJP plays for you. Not the sharpest passer but always filling the hole next to the ruck on defence and looks to be close to the ball on attack.
I'm not trying to talk him up as some kind of second coming, his next game could well be very average but I really don't think he deserved the scorn he was getting on the thread last night. Show me when he wasn't right there at the breakdown? Only time anyone else had to fill in was when he was the carrier.
As I said the irony was that for all the crying about using players out of position (and I totally agree with that regarding Leger) you are now calling for a 10 to play 9 when you haven't got a 10.
These Canes game threads are really funny. Just about every player that gets called shit (including Blackwell) then has a period of really good play to throw egg at your faces.
The problem with the Canes isn't so much the players it is the coordination between them.
They were rabble last night and won by 20. Seems a pass mark.
By the way what was with Jordie last night? Dialling it in. Seemed to have his mind elsewhere. -
@crucial what I saw was someone out of their depth, his decision making was off the mark and he seemed to take a lifetime to get the ball out. He looks like a NPC player at best, especially when you compare him to a top level halfback like A Smith in the game afterwards.
Like I said further up the thread it was a piss poor performance from the Canes and it wasn’t just Taumateine. Kirifi had a shocker, Coles was poor, Leger is not a 10, Prinsep / Blackwell were back to their usual selves and Proctor had a game to forget.
Let’s hope all of Love, Perenara, Savea, IWL, Rayasi, PUJ, Evans and Aumua make a return to the starting team soon because we look like an average NPC team without them.

Comparing halfbacks to A Smith is a futile exercise. As a gauge of what is best he fits the bill. As a gauge of what is good he is streets ahead.
JTs clearance last night was no better or worse than most of the halves in this comp and that's what I was getting at. I have seen much worse. If his clearance was a 'lifetime' you should consider yourself lucky that you aren't a Blues fan.
I usually saw him ready as soon as the ball was available . The ruck wasn't waiting for him. I never saw him look around once there (he was noticeably doing his talking and option viewing on the way to the breakdown and he didn't fuck around setting up snakes or rubbish for box kicks.
All in all I would give him a B+ not the C- you seem to see. -
I think the comments about JT being shit are harsh too. Like @Crucial is suggesting, he seemed no worse than most of the other half backs (excluding Smith of course). Damned with faint praise I know, but that is the current situation in NZ unfortunately.
Sure Roigard looked good when he came on, but a lot of half-backs do. Just ask Crusader fans.
