Waratahs v Hurricanes

@stargazer no one was excellent tonight. Plenty of work to do. Hopefully Love is okay.
Should get Perenara back now though.

A few more stats:
Fast or not, Rayasi made an impressive 174 metres from 17 runs. No one else came close. Impressive it may be, it also says a lot about the Tahs.
The next two are Jack Maddocks with 109 metres from 12 runs and Julian Savea with 103 metres from 10 runs.
Best of the rest was Kirifi with 66 metres from 10 runs.
Savea made the most clean breaks (5) and shares the top spot for defenders beaten with Rayasi (7).
Rayasi was also responsible for most conceded turnovers (3).
Only 3 Hurricanes players won a turnover, that's half the number of the Waratahs.

I’m starting to think every comment you make on the Hurricanes is coloured by petty provincialism
Welcome to the fuckin Fern.

What a game to showcase the difference between Savea and Rayasi. Knowledge Vs raw talent. Great to see Jules showing his experience, Rayasi not so great but geez so much potential if he can look like he's played rugby before. Out of all the wingers people have promoted for the midfield, I think he's the one that most would benefit from moving in.
Perenara straight back in to first five.
Hats off to Campbell, I think he's been brilliant for an absolute nobody.
Did Flanders tip someone on a cleanout right near the start?

Hurricanes tackle stats (tackles made - missed
Umaga-Jensen 4 - 3Umaga-Jensen didn’t seem himself probably wasn’t used to starting 😂

Only just got around to watching the so called highlights.
Surely there was a coaches agreement going on here? Let's save ourselves for other games and not bother with tackling.
I hope they are looking closely at the bookies after that. Tahs scoring 40+ and losing? That would have been stupid odds.

He’s out there playing rugby like he’s still playing basketball at St Pats. He’s got excellent vision which is wasted on the wing.

It was strangely passive. I think the Canes knew they didn't have to put in much effort to win and the standards dropped.
Unfortunately the Tahs have defended like that in some AU games
It was a bit like watching some Blues sides from the mid 2010's. If you don't maintain standards in games you're expected to win it's hard to just switch back on against tougher sides

The rough edges have been obvious in his 3 seasons at Auckland. Doesn't matter so much at NPC level.
Signing with the Canes hasn't worked out for him. He needed game time to refine his game and he's barely played until this year.
He should've had this sort of season back in 2019. He shouldn't still be getting described as a 'raw talent' in his 3rd year of pro rugby.
