@gt12 Yes I do. I'll wear one tomorrow to work
From that wording, you have another one to wear on Tuesday?

I wonder if all this draw/combining tables of two separate competitions would be discussed if the Crusaders hadn’t missed out. 😝
The Chiefs got a shit draw, but they knew what to do to be successful. They weren’t. Same with the other two teams who didn’t make the final.
I am not a Saders supporter, but we all know they are better than both the Blues and Highlanders.
you sure about that?
https://crusaders.co.nz/latest/news/crusaders-secure-narrow-win-over-the-brumbies-to-open-their-trans-tasman-campaign/Their results against Aussies suggests they are at best comparable
I am basing it off when they have actually played each other.
Surely that's a better yardstick.
43-27 to the Saders at Eden Park.
29-6 to the Saders in Christchurch.Damn certain Blue supporters are happier about having to face the Highlanders than the Saders.
And also trying to convince themselves that it means something
@crazy-horse said in Super Rugby Trans Ta$man:
Fuck me, here we go again. According to the Fern the TT comp was meaningless, but it seems only up to the point where the Saders got eliminated. Then when Sader fans take part in a conversation about how the competition could have been better it gets labelled sour grapes - despite the fact it's been talked about relentlessly by supporters of every team for weeks.
The Fern is generally a good place, but seriously, this Crusader bullshit brings the place down. It's almost as though many of you are becoming the new Cantabs.
Rant over.
" Then when Sader fans take part in a conversation about how the competition could have been better it gets labelled sour grapes"
Those poor, poor Crusaders fans who were just helpfully trying to think of ways that the competition could possibly be better!
Case in point.

The competition is a farce. Basically everyone here would accept that the Hurricanes are the worst NZ side in Super Rugby this season. That is not a controversial opinion - after all, we were the only team to not make a final in 2021. However, we just needed Jordie Barrett to kick one penalty goal and we would have come first and hosted the final. In what sort of competition should the worst NZ team be in such a box seat?
What if we won the final? How would I feel about that? Stoked, for sure. However, would there be a ticker-tape parade? Would the kids take a day off school? Would it compare (at all) to 2016? The answer is assuredly no.
It is a fucked competition where you can go 5/5 and not make the final. Of course, the Crusaders do only have themselves to blame. They should have secured more four try bonus points and they should have pumped the Rebels by more. The Highlanders and Blues deserve to be in the final and I hope we do continue to play the Australian teams.
One thing I will say, is that I preferred the one round of Super Rugby TT to another round of Super Rugby Aotearoa. SRA was better but playing each team twice will be enough. The worrying thing is that any Pacific franchise will be a lot less competitive than even the 'Tahs were.
Would the Canes have had a home final?

I think there is a difference between arguing the the competition needs improving and that the results of it are meaningless.
Can we agree on this? "Super Rugby TT has meaning but it is clearly less than SRA".
-
@shark said in Super Rugby Trans Ta$man:
Still trying to convince yourselves.
Of course the players feel it's meaningful. They're paid well to care and compete and just want to win at all times. Fucken duh.
That doesn't mean it's actually meaningful though, or certainly not in relation to the SRA comp.
How about the Super Grand Final? Winners of SRA against the winners of SRTT. No trophy, but the winning coach gets to breakdance.

@crazy-horse If you're going to post a big whine about being picked on, then you should at least read the comment that kicked all this off.
"And also trying to convince themselves that it means something"
Hardly comparable to your self-pitying post.

Not self pitying at all. Just calling bullshit to way Cantabs get shut out of conversations.

That post didn't kick it off. It was kicked off by someone suggesting that the Blues and Highlanders are comparable to the Crusaders because they all went 5-0 against Australian teams, when the Crusaders easily had the best record versus NZ teams.

Blues only got 23 points. They might have beaten the Force with a bonus point if they had to though.

Then, under this tournament’s rules, they’d have deserved it.
I dont think its a great format (my team was the one screwed the most) but we knew what was required.
In fact, if we go back to round 1, I recall that during the first Chief’s game someone called me Chicken Little when I stated that to make the final you’d need to win every game and basically get a bonus point in each.
