I think he would actually do very well at league
playing in the middle, especially defending, is so bloody hard now. It would take him a while to get the required fitness level.
Obviously the transition would take time and there’s no way a league club with a salary cap will pay Japan level money for him. It’s all BS.
we are talking rooster sombrero here, somehow they fit more in that cap than most.. but honestly cant see him going though and although walking into a top team, as per what M4L said, he will be found out just waving arms in the middle by a coathanger or two pretty quickly.

I thought so too - but RTS made the switch!

I reckon he’d make an excellent hooker given his high work rate and tackle ability. He could even be very good at 5/8 with his boot and not be a liability on defence like a number of 5/8s in the NRL.
As for his AB career, when he hasn’t tried to be the man, he has played well and provided good impact off the bench. But when he tries to take over the game he has made some very costly mistakes.
Leads the haka well.
-
@act-crusader I did not realise that leading the haka was a component to being selected.
-
i have a significant problem with the haka being led by a halfback

It should be at least in the top 3 skill considerations. Not as important as hair style or boot colour though.

Have you not wondered why most of our halfbacks in the last few years have been Maori? 😉

How did you cope when it was Stu Forster?
-
It isn't as if there is a flood of quality, uninjured halfbacks running around at the moment.
I think he is fine at the right moment off the bench if well-coached and well-drilled. Oh, Foster, you say?
I couldn't possibly comment.. -

@bones is that Dane basically saying TJ is a mong head?
But Stuff (purveyor of fine realities) says Dane is a NRL fan!
And he also likes a bit of the rough stuff, playing out of position and not letting the ball go for any reason. Oh and (allegedly) a bit of a red-misted 'mong head' himself.
So not correcting your post at all.. -

I thought Dane was a league player before deciding to go Union.
League players may all be boofs but not all boofs are league players?
So that happened

Nope.
Boof as in short for boofhead. -

@crucial I fail to see how you don't realise that's even worse phrasing
The only users of your definition are those that need a word to describe their actions. Is that how you knew it?
Boofhead has been kiwi/Aussie slang for decades.
