SRA round 8: Highlanders v Blues

Connor Garden-Bachop, has been ruled out for the season after breaking his wrist, PPP also unavailable due to injury, jesus that sucks
Season ending injuries: Jermaine Ainsley (ankle), Fetuli Paea (ankle), Freedom Vaahakalo (foot), Folau Fakatava (knee), Thomas Umaga-Jensen (wrist), Connor Garden-Bachop (wrist), Liam Squire (knee).
in my mind Collins starts or he doesn't play, not likely to come on and turn a game around
-
@kiwiwomble CGB again! Poor bugger.
-
@kiwiwomble yeah I'd think he'd be a better option alongside Gregory (his experience as opposed to Sio's, er, explosiveness...)
-
@taniwharugby a very generous euphemism
-
Very conservative Blues side.
Once again Leon can't settle on a halfback. His 3rd season as coach and he simply rotates almost every week.
I expect to see a lot of the youngsters in the blues squad given opportunity during Trans Ta$man comp because there are a heap of players who have yet to play/barely played during SRA.
How's that Ray Niuia bloke as well - he's played about 2 games for the Blues last February and yet to be fit since.

Wonder if it's trying to match a game plan. That said, he's been pretty consistent with other selections - rotating props, but the backline in general, and 8/10/15 have been pretty consistent.

If the 9s are Ruru and Christie, I'd prefer latter to start.
-
@kiwimurph Ray Niuia only played 1 haha when we lost to the Chiefs pre covid.

Taking the fam down to Dunners for the weekend along with a mate and his fam so will be at the game Friday night.
Will be my first time attending that stadiumit's an absolutely awesome sporting arena. Well worth a trip to go and see. We don't have enough proper rectangular stadia in NZ; Dunedin, Waikato, North Harbour are the big three I guess. It's such a better fan and viewing experience

The son wanted to go to a game as a freedom relief after months of isolation in the UK (and here) so a group of us are heading there from Qtown. Should be a good night. That Landers team isn’t as bad a I thought it would be. -
enjoy the game gents, know where your sitting? i always like the north stand, bloody steep and right on the touchline
-
@jk I went to this fixture last year. Great stadium and they have a great set of fans except for @Bones, @Siam and @Kiwiwomble. A lot of Blues fans there last year too which suprised me.
-
@african-monkey firstly....ouch
secondly, is Siam a highlanders fan?
-
@kiwiwomble Apparently......
