Hurricanes v Crusaders

@steven-harris That happened 3 times throughout the game.
Dare I say the Canes would have won that game comfortably if they had a lineout. They matched them at scrumtime and won the breakdown battle rather easily. An opportunity missed by the canes.

@steven-harris Suprised he's only on 100 haha. Thought he was near 150 he's been around that long (obviously he's missed a fair few with injury and suspension).

The 5 m lineout that Coles overthrew was a big moment to extend the Canes' lead.

@canes4life You can't blame Blackwell for that one. Coles missed his target (Prinsep).

Ah poo bum wee. But, can’t expect to win a game without a functioning lineout. At least that was a step up from the recent Hammetesk performances.
Blackwell appears to be one of those players who somehow inhabit a form of alternate dimension when viewed by commentators and coaches as opposed to the fans. The way the coms were fapping on about him today you’d think he was AB material. FFS he’s an undersized lock who tries really hard, but has zero positive impact on a game. You could replace a Blackwell highlights package with someone trying to knock down a brick wall with a rubber hammer.

@bovidae and the man in charge of the lineout is Blackwell, yet Holland still can’t see it.
That loose forward balance of Prinsep, Savea and Flanders was brilliant - let’s hope they keep it like that.
2/3 were brilliant. as I mentioned in the thread I didn’t even realise Prinsep was there mid way through the match.

Good to see our scrum go well. Lomax and Numia really held their own.
Yes.
Bower is a BIG step down from Moody. -

Be remiss not to mention Joe moody ,Nga mihinui ki a koe Joe..100 games nothing to be sneezed at
His Trademe jersey is past $10K now.
Jordie and Ardie had whales of games for the Hurricanes.
Through the middle 40 minutes, I thought the game had shades of that AB-England game, where the smaller Crusaders backs were struggling to contain the bigger Canes backs - and the Canes were making lots of ground playing direct.
Canes' lineout definitely cost them.
Once Ardie went off the Canes just had a few too many holes in the dyke and with the rookie halves it always seemed likely the Crusaders would finish over the top.
Scott Barrett made the right decision to kick off in extra time, I think. You don't want to risk the early penalty - or charge down, as it turned out.
Nice cool finish from David Havili.

@chris-b nice summary.
Ruben Love can hold his head high for the Canes aswell, he had the best 10 performance by any Canes first five this year even when he was definitely held back by the Canes.
R Mo was superb and he really showed why he should be selected at 10 for the A.Bs.
Jordie showed exactly why he deserves the 15 jersey for the ABs. He was brilliant and I would love to see him form a combo with Jordan in the outsides.
All in all a bloody good game of code. Both games last night were excellent aswell.

A particular low point was when they subbed off IWL, and the commentators saying that Scrafton adds some size, so should help the problem lineout...

I’m not convinced that Jordie was that good. If you took away TJs gushing over everything he did and just watched his play criticality there is a huge amount to criticise.
His clearing and decisions in the 22 were very poor. I’m not sure if it was coaches instructions but he sp nt more time bullying Love out of position than he did at 15.
The kid makes highlight reels and gets his name called out a lot for sure but that was a mixed bag out there today. -
@stockcar86 IWL is our best lock by a long way, why can’t the commentators or the coaches see it. It’s quite baffling.
