The only other two real option isRoe...
The only problem is that he is very green. Although getting him into all blacks camp would be very good for him.

See my post on the Smith thread. I don't rate Roe's passing that highly and although he is young and can improve there has been little sign of work in that area so far this year.

Ta'avao or Lomax to get a lifeline? It won't matter for the Tonga/Fiji tests.
Powerhouse All Blacks prop Ofa Tuungafasi looks like being an absentee from the July tests against Tonga and Fiji, though might be back when it really matters in the Rugby Championship. Tuungafasi was a notable defection from the Blues lineup to face the Highlanders in Saturday’s Super Rugby Trans- Ta$man final at Eden Park (kickoff 7.05pm), with coach Leon MacDonald revealing he was set to go under the knife to repair an ongoing knee issue.

Moli?
Ah, had forgotten about him. Is he fit now?
@Bovidae will have the best info, I imagine, but he's playing club footy at least.

Moli only played the one game for the Chiefs and I don't think he went to Aust. That implies he isn't 100% fit. I don't know if he has played for Varsity since then.
Laulala, Ta'avao and Lomax is enough for these tests.
I love him, but fuck that. Bring Moli in and get him up to speed or test out Newell (who will be an AB one day).

@gt12 I'd select Ta'avao over Lomax myself. Better scrummaging through SR and not prone to get carded for poor tackle technique.
I'm not sold on Lomax either, but Ta'avao's scrummaging and general play is worse than Mafileo. He should even start at the Chiefs.

@kiwiwomble I like the look of Roe and Roigard but they are still very young.
-
How about fidow or is his scrummaging still not good enough?

Hes' definitely not at the level of some of the other props. However, we have been a little light on effective carriers in the tight.
I wouldn't mind seeing him specialise as an impact player off the bench - might be a bit rough if an injury happens early. There are pros and cons - I imagine that Foster will want to play it fairly safe.

Classic interview with Beaudy on the What A Lad podcast: only 30 mins into it and he's already dished out shit on Andrew Hore, mentioned Kneepkens as one to watch at the Blues next year and he wants to play for another 10 years.
If you also skip through to the 50 odd minute mark he talks about why he left the Canes and how hard of a decision it was.
