Highlanders vs Hurricanes pre-season

Hurricanes team vs Highlanders:
This was published today but it seems to have been pulled from social ever since.
Here is the starting team that was published before the team list was removed:
- Numia
- Aumua
- Fidow
- Blackwell
- Scrafton
- Flanders
- Kirifi
- Savea
- Taumauteine
- Garden-Bachop
- Goosen
- Laumape
- Proctor
- Savea
- Barrett
I can't remember the full reserve list but I know Armstrong, Walker-Leawere, Prinsep, Evans, Umaga-Jensen, Fifita, Coles, Hickey and Le'aupepe weren't there.
Comments on the starting team: I really hope they aren't serious about including Julian Savea in the starting team. Seriously, the guy has no gas anymore. Surely Rayasi is the better option on the left wing with Goosen on the right.
Many of you will be pleased to see Blackwell starting at 4. Adds plenty of height to that forward pack.

we're not doing two teams each this time? just a normal game?
-
@Kiwiwomble they named just one team with about 15 reserves so I'm sure there will be plenty of rotation.

Along with his height I look forward to seeing more of his skillful 'pass to the grass' over the coming season.

Holland is a muppet.
True. But he will likely do enough to not be fired for years to come.

"Prinsep won’t make round one due to a calf injury but wasn’t far off, Gibbes said. Devan Flanders, who had a monster season for Hawke’s Bay, wears No 6 against the Highlanders."
... There's still hope for the first game
The above back row looks good. But tight 5 looks a bit average. I had high hopes for the 2 props but for wellington last year they weren't too good (as far as the scrum went). But Armstrong & Lomax could both be back next week and both starting. And hopefully PUJ is back and starting next week

interesting
we're going to see NMS start at 15
the starting team could be considered first string other than NMS (but our 15 is yet to be locked down between him, Alaimolo or even CGB after the pre season)...and Sio at 12....im over him and hope we see more TUJ or even collins

@Kiwiwomble Fakatava, but no Hammington on the bench. Did Hammington get injured, last week, or is this a sign for things to change? Good to see that Tokolahi, MMT and Alaimalo have overcome their "niggles" and that the injuries to Dickson and Evans weren't serious. Still no Josh Ioane and Liam Squire.
That midfield, Tomkinson and Paea, anyone else think that these players are too similar to put them both in the starting line-up?
