Eventhough I think they only have themselves to blame I think both SA and Arg will improve dramatically next games, just in terms of assimilating to local conditions. Arg in particular just looked really short of a gallop and puffed by half time. South Africa obviously will be upset and come out with a point to prove, for all the chest beating prior about the Lions, they were incredibally inaccurate
Boks also didn't look fit. Partly the quarantine but partly that they were forced to run around a bit more than usual. I'll reference Eddie Jones' book again, to paraphrase his game plan against the Boks: shift the big boys around - they don't like it and opportunities open up
the revenge of the undersized hooker.
is that a Chiefs joke?
An Eddie Jones joke He is tiny!
yup from memory a lack of size held Eddie back from higher honours..

@akan004 If the players stick to their big bubbles, playing without a crowd makes much more sense.
are they actually in bubbles?
Even public shit like their Townsville Esplanade photo shoot?
Either way it wouldn't matter, the chook would sacrifice a looot of people to ensure that she puts on the NRL GF when NSW couldn't

Brodie there on reputation, Scott was better this series. Even with only one game, Aaron Smith still best 9

@machpants fair enough, akira probably gets there more on the first few games than the last couple

Very true, I'd have Sia there instead (numbers rather tan position cheat!) Also I would have RIoane at 11, one of the players of the tournament.
Other wise pretty good. Not saying Scott should be there, but BBBR shouldn't

@machpants RI only played two games at 11 and his biggest contribution on the weekend was when he popped up in midfield

They must have watched some different fixtures to me.
The most egregious selections:
4. Shadow of his former self. Hardly imperious and one of two standouts.
11. Did what apart from stand offside?
13. Never had the ball and if he did invariably coughed up.Most deserving are 12, 14 and 15.

Spot on - I'd add 2. Taylor to the egregious list. He was shit, Marx way better, probably even the Wallabies hookers. Taukei'aho was very good the short while he was on the field, too.

Pretty hard to pick a team of the tournament when there was such a merry go round of results, Argentina matches excluded. This is a team certainly picked from somebody whose main tournament viewing & analysis was all the Aussie games.
Hard to believe no Bok back row after the works of Kolisi, Smith & Vermulean against us.
Having said that, ultimately, as it's a team of the tournament, you should be looking at those players who did the most to get their players their board positioning. In that respect, then Akira Ioane is a no brainer. As is Kellaway, Cooper & Savea.
Zero interest in McDermott who I thought showed some serous potential against us, but then was erratic as all hell in other games. As for selections of Mapimpi & Am, they look like selections from somebody just trying to up the number of Safa's. Will Jordan the obvious candidate for me from his Aus / Arg results. Retallick shouldn't be there either, although I offer no viable alternative.
