Nigel Owens - 100 Tests

Hopefully when he retires WR employ him as a ref coach. Not only does he demonstrate a good rapport with players and an understanding he's there to facilitate a game of rugby, he clearly has a better feel for the game than most and looks like he actually enjoys a good, skilful game.

@Machpants was one where he jokingly showed the ball boy a YC after he kicked or threw the ball on the park and it hit him.
Seems to have a great rapport with players and a feel for the game, knowing when he needs to issue warnings or if he can let it flow.
RWC2015 Final:
"How are you feeling Dan?"
"I'm absolutely fucked, Nige."
"Mind the language now, we're on telly"

He'd probably make a good commentator. Knowing the laws gives him an advantage over many of them..
-
Going into a coaching role with the WRU, and will still be reffing lower levels, so plenty of involvement left for him.
-
@Godder It's a pity he'll no longer officiate test matches; he's the aboslute best. I enjoyed watching test matches with him as the referee. I like his sense of humour. There was always that moment in a match where he'd say or do something that made me laugh.

Get hin to coach the current int and domestic refs-they need it!

He’s been bloody good to listen to in the Lions matches. Keeps his gob shut unless he has something of value to say or is asked by Warburton (also good). You get a slightly different viewpoint that makes you consider things differently.

Great stuff!

A thoroughly decent man, from everything I have read of him - considered and empathetic and with absolutely no tolerance for people who discriminate against others on the basis of race, gender, sexuality or love of rival codes. He also has a sense of humour, a characteristic which appears to be removed from most referees the instant they are furnished with their whistle.

Heard him on last nights game. Gave an excellent insight on what goes thru the Ref's mind at different stages of the game - which most of which wouldn't be remotely aware of. Great stuff.
