Blowing the kick wide to J Barrett, when 7 - 0 up, was so frustrating.
It wasn't "blowing" the kick that was frustrating, it was that we fucking attempted it! We had an overlap and hands would have gotten us there, but nooooo, fucking Jordie was right up flat demanding it and his brother bloody well obliged.
Save that shit for your fucking backyard you stupid cnts

The shit that Argentina are allowed to get away with is disgraceful.
Perhaps if the ref's did something about it there would be less "pushing"
-
Good result. Crushed their ability to win the game in the first half. Forwards dominated. Discipline was good. Set piece was seriously strong.
The rest is very average.
Richie M seems like another in a long line of super rugby studs, test match duds.
We have a weapon on a wing with no ability to create space for him. The other wing is a non entity. BBarrett has been average at the back. The midfield is creating nothing.Lots of looking for contact, or post contact metres, very little guile to play off it.
All in all I reckon the Eden park performance was good, the rest can go to the bin.
Unfortunately I don't see how there is any change next year. The same shit will be on display because the brains trust can point to a couple of big wins and all the trophies on offer.

@mariner4life dunno, I think (hope) in terms of personell Foz went with the tried and true, next year I'm hoping we will see him put more of his own stamp on things (given his contract expires end of next year) with next season to determine if he takes us to the RWC or not.
Gameplan i think there are glimpses of them changing things, but not sure there us enough here to get us to the head of the class again for him to take us into 2023.
2021 we need to be out and out the best team on the planet for Foz to get an extension.

I genuinely feel Dmac is our best 10 potentially..even though I feel that experiment doesnt seem anywhere near currently..
BB has been out of form since 2017, Mounga hasn't been bad but I just think Dmac offers a higher ceiling. Hopefully he gets a full season at 10 for the Chiefs.

Good God man, get outta here with that shit!!!

Two intercepts are making us look waaay better than we actually are
Can't say I 100% agree.
If our finishing was better we'd have been 17-20 up at the break, not 10, and at least 38, if not more, in front at the end.
The intercepts were the fruits of the ground work earlier in the game.
-
@voodoo He had what one start against France? Where it was one of the best performances at 10 we've seen in years? Thats the only opportunity he got.
I remember even at the time people on this board after that game agreed Dmac showed more potential than Mounga. But then the dual playmaker system started and Dmac was set at fullback with the 10/15 combo with BB before he got injured in 2019.

This. We smashed them early, turned them around with kicks, broke up the defence and were in a position to take advantage with a very talented speedster later in the game. A bit lucky maybe, but it worked.
-
Does no one remember this game?
Beaudens out of form, Mounga hasn't proven to be as effective as predicted. I'd like to see Dmac at 10 happen, only had the one start but was brilliant.
Don't forget he doesnt exactly get EXQUISITE service at the Chiefs year in year out.
-
@kpkanz DMac was great in that game.
However, France weren't interested at all in that 3rd game and seemed to have mentally left to go back home already. His match that day has a lot in common with RM game against the Wallabies in Sydney this year. Where for whatever reason the Wallabies just didn't turn up and RM put them to the sword.

I've had zero starts at 10 for the AB's , I dont need any more to know i shouldn't be playing there...š
Look, I think he's probably a great guy. But I've just seen zilch that tells me he has the on-field temperament ro play 10 in a big game for us. He still puts his team under pressure with his sideways running, and I don't think he has the kicking game from hand nor the physique for 80mins at 10.

I honestly thought you were describing Richie M there

Good point re Taylor though. May be he's not as good at it? Or has different strengths so the tactics change to suit? Or another forward takes on that role?
Taylor has been employed on the wing, as is common for most hookers nowadays, especially after a lineout.
An example was in the 1st test against the Lions when Taylor scored on the right wing. I had a great view of that try from my seat. I don't think he is used there as often as Coles though.

I'm not advocating for him as a 10 but FFS his sideways running gets blown out of proportion.
He's had a much better run in tests (pre his injury) in form, than Jordie ever as - in the comparison of flighty fullbacks.
But, this new poster's fluffing of DMac is so over the top even I'm questioning my support of DMac.
-
Dmac at 10 scares the bejesus out of me. But he'd have more go forward (or at least scalded crab go sideways) than Richie. But there is more to 10 than running. He'd at least be a good goal kicker I suppose.
