Rousey's stand up looked great against amateurs but embarrassingly shit against someone who had some experience. She should've listened to her mother a long time ago and ditched that joke of a striking coach Edmund. Then instead of believing all the hype about her being a rounded fighter, stuck to her strengths, judo, against Holm. Too arrogant.

Oh well, this should lead to some interesting fights in that division now. Assuming they don't go straight to the rematch (which I hope they don't), there could be some interesting match ups for Holm.
Pretty great PPV overall. The first fight on the main card sucked but Whittaker, Hunt and Joanna were awesome. Then the main event craziness topped it off.
-

The big girl got schooled.

-

Nite nite princess. Somewhat amusing after
Rhonda was all up in Holm's grill at the weigh in.
-

She certainly talks the game like a promoters dream!

-

I am really glad she got knocked out. The UFC needed that result. And i think Riousey did as well, she was going off the track.

-

The UFC have two big draws at the moment, Rousey and McGregor, and given that McGregor is a huge underdog against Aldo, Rousey's loss is the worst possible thing that could've happened. It's like the one-two punch of GSP retiring and Anderson Silva getting knocked out all over again. Dana was pretty obviously upset afterwards.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's good for MMA and probably for Rousey as well, but for the UFC itself? Not really.
-

I don't follow this sport but the noise this bout has made, got me to have a look at what the fuss is all about.

Looked like a Friday Night outside Maccas in Upper Hutt, with a couple of skanks squabbling over who had the rights to suck off some P addicted, hoodie wearing driver of a modified Mitsubishi Mirage.
-

If the fern had an option to 'tag' members I'd be tagging Bones for his thoughts on that. -

Are you sure McGregor is the underdog? -

Denigrating any sport is a bit rich for any of us that would get up at 4 in the morning to watch 30 blokes chase around and egg shaped ball. -

Yeah but players generally aren't out to deliberately maim and assault eachother especially now Troy Flavell and Danny Grewcock have retired. -

I thought it was some pretty high calibre striking if you ask me!
-

That's only a matter of degree. There's plenty of people who would argue that rugby is brutal and disgusting. Reality is that they're all there by choice and extremely high level athletes. -

The same people who'd whine about soccer mums complaining about "thugby"?

People love whining about sports they're completely ignorant of. No clue that there's a shitload of technique involved, that a lot of those "barbarians" are Olympians (including Rousey) or that it's technically a safer sport than boxing because there's less head trauma (even ignoring the submission game, a quick knockout is safer than hundreds of softer hits to the head).

Yes, by a mile. As much as I'd love to see him win, Aldo's dominated that division from day one.
-

I never said it was low quality. I wouldn't actually know one way or the other. Maybe Upper Hutt skanks are of a high striking quality as well. (which would be nice as they need to be high quality at something)
-

All of the odds I've seen have him as favourite
