Pretty good list. A couple are on there more for how big the moment was though
The Yair Rodriguez one is crazy. Particularly as it came in the very last second of a 25min fight
Chronological order
Barbosa, Masvidal, Buckley
Where was Ngannou v Overeem
and Emmett v Mitchell

A good test this weekend for kiwi Carlos Ulberg up against Alonzo Menifield
So far he's improved each fight in the UFC. He's been in camp for a long time.. he had to pull out of a fight against Reyes with an injury, then this Menifield fight was delayed
ESPN 2 ~12:45 on Sunday afternoon
Here's his highlights so far in the UFC
The french CKB fighter Kevin Jousset is on the early prelims
-
Ulberg v Menifield starts soon
Joussett’s fight was cancelled after the opponent pulled out late for undisclosed reasons. Fly from Auckland to St Louis and cut weight for no reason.. that sucks for Joussett.
I wonder if they’ll find a short notice fight for him soon, or if he doesn’t fight until the Paris card in September?
-
That was a fun, fun card with some great fights and great finishes
-
In NZ UFC news
- Ulberg is now ranked 11th
- Ulberg had an injured right arm going into the fight and didn't train properly for the last two weeks. It was compromised during the fight (good thing it finished quick)
- Menifields brother was agresive back at the hotel claiming it was a lucky punch. UFC Securitry got involved and he hit one of them
- Jousset's opponent (Gooden) passed out during the weight cut and hit his head
- Jousset got paid his show money and his win bonus
- Hooker, Adesanya and KKF possibly on the Perth card
I'm assuming Hooker will be fighting someone lower ranked. They struggle to get people to travel to Aussie. Adesanya v DDP & KKF v Erceg maybe?

Fuck me
June has the makings to be the greatest month in UFC history
So many good match ups
-
It's a strong month. That ABC card is as good as another ppv
Huge chance for Ulberg at 303. Rountree pulled out of the Jamahal Hill fight and Ulberg has stepped in
A couple of weeks ago he was unranked, now he's fighting a former champ on a Conor McGregor card. If he wins they'll throw him in against Pereira (Adesanya's team mate vs Pereira will be the storyline..)
-
Hard to see Poirier getting the win. I hope I'm wrong but I think Dustin is on the decline despite getting a good stoppage in his last fight.
Strickland v Costa is really interesting. Both coming off of close (but correct) losses by decision. I thought Costa looked as good as he ever has. Meanwhile Strickland, once again, wasn't aggressive enough and got burnt. Does he take more risks this time?
I'm picking Costa but it's close to 50/50.

It's been hard to keep up with all the fight cancellations in the last week
A tricky fight for Whittaker this weekend. Hard to know how good Aliskerov is yet. Hopefully Whittaker gets it done and stays in the title mix. A fight against Strickland would be good
A couple of fun looking fights on the card too. The Russian heavyweights in the co-main plus Johnny Walker vs Oezdemir
-
Prelims were ok
Oezdemir folds Walker up like a deckchair
Looked like Vargas of Hungary
Walker doneMagomedov
King of the Rangas
Should be in the next Mad Max movieGastelum is Cormier’s mini me
Always looks out of shape
Always fights his heart outVolkov looked great
Lean, mean and accurateBobby Knuckles came to play

It sounds like he'll be a backup fighter for DDP v Izzy in Perth. I'd prefer to see him and Strickland fight to decide who gets the next shot. Strickland will avoid that though
As expected
Probably the right tactical move however it’s risky. If Whittaker has another good performance in the next couple of months he could easily get the next shot. The UFC won’t promise Strickland anything. Be active or risk getting forgotten
