Bobby Knuckles v Chimaev in Middleweight title eliminator

Good fight. Go Whittaker. It raises a few questions though

Where does this leave Strickland? He's still claiming he didn't lose.. he's not going to get an immediate rematch. He needs to fight someone. Maybe a rematch with Cannonier, another fight he claims he won?

Whittaker was being talked about as headlining Perth. That won't happen now. Della Maddalena will surely be on the card but will he headline a PPV?

My guess is DDP and Izzy fight in Perth a fight that DDP has delayed twice already. The winner of that will then fight Whitaker/Khamzat

Looked like a fair bit of bad blood between them after DDPs victory over Whitaker where Izzy acted like a complete piston wristed gibbon.

Add in all that shit after his court appearance and it’s very easy to cheer for DDP in this one.

Huge card. Even the early prelims are good

Almost all the fights are close.. really hard to pick. My guesses will be worse than normal

    Alex Pereira v Jamahal Hill
    Zhang Weili v Yan Xiaonan
    Justin Gaethje v Max Holloway
    Charles Oliveira v Arman Tsarukyan
    Bo Nickal v Cody Brundage

    Jiří Procházka v Aleksandar Rakić
    Calvin Kattar v Aljamain Sterling
    Holly Holm v Kayla Harrison
    Sodiq Yusuff v Diego Lopes

    Jalin Turner v Renato Moicano
    Jéssica Andrade v Marina Rodriguez
Bobby Green v v Jim Miller
    Deiveson Figueiredo v Cody Garbrandt

Pereira v Hill is 50/50 IMO. I lean towards Hill because he's been in more MMA situations

Gaethje v Holloway - I think the dumb belt encourages a certain type of fight and the help Gaethje

Bo Nickal - zzzzz. He's an interesting prospect. It's time for him to fight better people though. Lots of pressure on him to do it in style though

Holm v Harrison - I'm suspicious of how well Harrison can handle that weight cut. I think Holm keeps this at distance and gets a late stoppage

I hope Miller wins but Bobby has been in good form

    Rodriguez v Andrade
    Moicano v Turner

    Prelims
    Lopes v Yusuff
    Holm v Harrison
    Sterling v Kattar
    Rakic v Prochazka

    Main Card

    Nickal v Brundage
    Oliveira v Tsarukyan
    Gaethje v Holloway

    @MajorRage

    Region blocked unfortunately

Was it the end of the Holloway fight?

KO at 24.59 in a 25min fight. Max was winning comfortably and took the risk to win in style

Tough night to pick. I wound up on 7/13

Turner made a huge error in the early prelims trying for a walkaway KO and then losing in the next round

Sterling & Harrison were impressive making their fights one sided. Although did Holm go in there with a strange game plan to take on Harrison's strength?

Tsarukyan should be the no1 contender now.

Pereira with another great KO. LHW looks easier for him than MW. He's less depleted and has the speed advantage. Loads of guys at LHW are strikers that are happy to take one to land one.. which will not work. Maybe Ankalaev next for a different challenge?

Pretty good list. A couple are on there more for how big the moment was though

The Yair Rodriguez one is crazy. Particularly as it came in the very last second of a 25min fight

A good test this weekend for kiwi Carlos Ulberg up against Alonzo Menifield

So far he's improved each fight in the UFC. He's been in camp for a long time.. he had to pull out of a fight against Reyes with an injury, then this Menifield fight was delayed

ESPN 2 ~12:45 on Sunday afternoon

Here's his highlights so far in the UFC

The french CKB fighter Kevin Jousset is on the early prelims

    Ulberg v Menifield starts soon

Joussett’s fight was cancelled after the opponent pulled out late for undisclosed reasons. Fly from Auckland to St Louis and cut weight for no reason.. that sucks for Joussett.

I wonder if they’ll find a short notice fight for him soon, or if he doesn’t fight until the Paris card in September?

Ulberg got the KO in 12 seconds

    Menifield is a good fighter

3rd fastest finish in LHW history

    In NZ UFC news

    • Ulberg is now ranked 11th
    • Ulberg had an injured right arm going into the fight and didn't train properly for the last two weeks. It was compromised during the fight (good thing it finished quick)
    • Menifields brother was agresive back at the hotel claiming it was a lucky punch. UFC Securitry got involved and he hit one of them
    • Jousset's opponent (Gooden) passed out during the weight cut and hit his head
    • Jousset got paid his show money and his win bonus
    • Hooker, Adesanya and KKF possibly on the Perth card

I'm assuming Hooker will be fighting someone lower ranked. They struggle to get people to travel to Aussie. Adesanya v DDP & KKF v Erceg maybe?

    @MiketheSnow

It's a strong month. That ABC card is as good as another ppv

Huge chance for Ulberg at 303. Rountree pulled out of the Jamahal Hill fight and Ulberg has stepped in

A couple of weeks ago he was unranked, now he's fighting a former champ on a Conor McGregor card. If he wins they'll throw him in against Pereira (Adesanya's team mate vs Pereira will be the storyline..)
