@Duluth what are the Highlanders doing? Surely Walden deserves his spot. Add this to the non-signing of Josh McKay and it makes for some weird decisions.
Both players will be welcomed with opens arms by other franchises.

Walden is an actual leader who deserved better
Yeah this has pissed me right off this year. Pretty angry with them for letting him go but even more angry for just leaving him sitting around doing nothing when he's the best midfielder in the squad the last 3 years. His combination with Thompson was great too and look what happened to Thompson this year.
Surprised that with Mauger gone there wasn't a change in stance, but I hope Walden stays in NZ and shows us his potential.

I don't get the angst over Walden. He's never stamped a mark on SR. He's s fringe squaddie at best. Same with McKay. 2-3 seasons and sure, limited opportunities, but a good enough player would have taken one of those opportunities and made himself an essential selection.

Calm down mate, it’s a typo
I wouldn’t be as worried about letting these guys go if we’d already signed equal or better replacements but currently sio seems to be seen as the future
I also probably wouldn’t be as annoyed if there had been some communication...rather than just not playing him and then people reporting he didn’t have a contract

Not all of us have a range of ABs to pick from, he’s better then those we seem to be favouring is all that annoys me....as in he has done more than give away cards
