@African-Monkey I don’t think the Blues are that much better. The Canes scrum has been sound this year, the standards have only dropped since May has come in for Armstrong. (I only put that down to age) Last week we were beating the Chiefs up at scrum time until May came on and I don’t think the Blues are much better than that so we will see.
The Canes now have momentum so I wouldn’t be surprised if we actually win this one comfortably. Especially considering the Beauden Barrett honeymoon phase is diminishing.
Fuck man, we were underdogs!!!
Piss off, I claimed that for the canes 5 posts before yours!
Yep, I was referring to your excellent work (now ruined). Next time I'll be sure to reference you directly 😉

@Canes4life Not at all tbh. I'm just calling it as I see it post covid. The Canes could quite possibly pull our pants down as I have stated but yes or no have the Blues looked far better than the Canes so far in this comp? I know that can be hard to accept for some people that the Blues are playing some decent rugby so far but at this stage, they are. I didn't know that it was such a difficult thing to understand.

It's refreshing to see both sets of fans genuinely claim favoritism

@African-Monkey for sure, the Blues looked better than the Canes in the early rounds post covid and I don't mind admiting that. However, when you look at the Canes now compared to round 1 at Eden Park they are a completely different outfit, not supringsly either with the likes of Jordie taking our game back to where it should be.
At this point in time I seriously think the Canes are better equipped for Saturday. We almost have a full squad to choose from and we are coming off two solid wins with some much needed momentum. On the other hand you have a Blues side that will be licking their wounds after botching it against the Crusaders, so it's just suprising you think the Blues will 'do us' on our home patch with ease.
I just don't see that happening but I guess we will both find out on Saturday.

@KiwiMurph yeah but it was quite obvious that alot of the momentum was with the Hurricanes before it all turned to shit.
Anyway the past is in the past and Saturday is a brand new game. The two questions on my mind are - will we see DC finally make an appearance in a Blue jersey? And will Beaudy push out Otere and move back to 10?
Hope so. FB is not his best position and I want to see how he goes back at first

@Winger I think it's the right move aswell. Feel for Otere though, he left the Hurricanes to get away from Beaudy and now he's being forced out by the same guy once again.
Fuck him, bloody splitter

Agree. But Otere will have all of next year. From the Canes viewpoint I would prefer Barrett at FB not 1st. Even though I doubt he will play as poorly again

Speaking to media today, Hurricanes assistant coach Dan Cron labelled the trio as “most in-form loose trio in the world”.
“They’re probably the most in-form loose trio in the world at the moment, since we’re the only ones playing,” Cron said.
“[Sotutu] has been outstanding – he’s a threat off the back of the scrum, so we need to nullify that.
“Akira is playing well and in great shape, and they’re bringing Blake Gibson off the bench – he’s an outstanding player. They’ve got great depth there.”
-
I don't think it's good for the game that the Blues are holding all the good loose forwards. Somebody should think of the poor Crusaders having to play Sanders and Douglas on the weekend. Surely one of the Blues could be sent down to Christchurch to help them out.

Yeah the Saders have had the shit end of the Super stick since the competition began. You've gotta feel for them.

@MN5 the refs know it too, that's why they give them a free ride every week 😀
