North vs South

@antipodean clearly it's not a a matter of understanding the law. Your link to the laws governing a maul does not back up your case. Because the only things in this instance that you can claim to being in place for the maul to continue. Is point 13 & 13 of the laws. Defending players internationally leaving the maul. Neither happened. So like the ref, my interpretation is the maul is over the moment the attacking team broke off.
That wasn't the ref's interpretation - he penalised them for Laulala's actions.
I'm uninterested in explaining this to you any further.

Was great to see Hoskins step up at this higher level. A few north towards did themselves no favours. Ardie & Patty we're average as. Aioane was real disappointing. Seems to have so much potential but can't find it consistently. Worst loosie on the park tonight.

@antipodean True. Just look at what he and his captaincy ability brought to the Chiefs this year.
So by the same measure Whitelock isn't a good captain, he's just surrounded by better players.
-
@antipodean where did the ref say this. I might have missed it, but he explained that he's opinion is the maul was over and the players Infront of the ball carriers caused obstruction. that's what he explained to the captain

Ardie you beast
Ardie wins you tight matches.
Followed by an Ardie penalty that contributes the the loss.

Don't think Roane or Aoane did themselves any favours today. Reiko had a couple of nice touches though and was still the best 13 on display.
Awesome to see Sotutu step up with ease. What can't he do?
How many pens and fuck ups from Ardie?
DMac is just utter shit.
Nice to see ALB get a little bit of form back.
A Smith didn't have his greatest game.

Fai is not a centre.
Thrown in the deep end. I'm not sure I've ever seen him play centre before.
Even at school I think he played wing and then fullback.

He played midfield multiple games for Crusaders this year off the bench.

@Chris-B Seems to suggest they wanted to continue to look at Jordan on the wing. Moving JB to the midfield, Jordan to fullback and putting LF on the wing was the obvious changes.
DMac going into 1st 5 also says to me that J Ioane will be surplus to requirements in the 35-man squad.

Reiko had no real competition at 13 other than Umaga-Jensen who looked good when he came on.
Uninjured centres have been a real issue for us in recent years so we end up with Goodhue (doesn't seem to get injured) and whoever is available out of Laumape/ALB/Reiko/Umaga-Jensen,
I don't think we've seen enough of any of them together (Laumape/Umaga-Jensen most be the close to most games together?) to know. ALB/Reiko get the nod at the moment but there are likely to be better combinations.

After how bad he has been the whole year, I thought he played well enough to improve his stocks. He had a hand in, maybe, every North try?
I still think our best team doesnโt have him in the 23, but he showed why a number 22 jersey might still be a possibility.
