@Hooroo No. Fifita has taken the place of Scrafton and Ardie the spot of Evans.

Changes on the bench are May for Mafileo; Scrafton for Walker-Leawere, Evans for Ardie, and they've dropped a forward (Flanders) for an extra back, van Wyk.

Lol I get legit mad each week I see Prinsep on the team sheet. Flanders please!

IWL must be injured? If they've dropped him it's baffling but not surprising with some of the dumb arse selections our coaches keep making

Is Holland for real? How the hell does Prinsep start before Evans?

To make things worse he gets rid of IWL who was the only one to provide any sort of starch to our forward pack.

I've lost all faith in this coaching staff when they can't see where the obvious weaknesses are.

    Crusaders by plenty.

@Duluth yes he was, Prinsep got smoked every time he ran it forward.

The coaches seem happy with plodder forwards but it won't win us games.

This is your drum you're constantly beating now? 😉 Evans was poop last week, no doubt, but he's usually good at Super level.

Does anyone know Prinsep? I'd like him to give me 6 numbers for the lotto ticket I plan to buy. Actually, if anyone knows Blackwell he's likely as good an option as well.

The difference is Evans and Flanders both have the potential to be very good. Prinsep's performance last week is pretty much what we expect from him, that's his level.

@Duluth difference is, Prinsep is always average. Evans has proven himself to be top-notch at Super level. Prinsep and Blackwell are apparently vital communicators in the leadership group but that doesn't mean much when they are average.

    I covered that yesterday:

@Duluth said in Hurricanes v Crusaders:

Maybe Evans deserves the start based on history, but I think the Canes should pick the guy in better form.

I don't think the Hurricanes are in a position where they can ignore form (even if he does play for Hawkes)
They need to turn around things quickly, Ardie starting was a no brainer and Evans was the player that earned a demotion

Except, they are, with Prinsep. Personally I'd advocate Flanders at 6 over Evans. Evans and Ardie are too similar in that they're 'flair' players. Flanders will work he arse off and not go backwards in the tackle.

@akan004 exactly right - it makes no sense to persist with a (and I'm being generous here) average player when you have someone like Evans, or a potential future star in Flanders.

    @Nepia

I think they'd be worried about removing all the senior players at once. When Coles was asked about who the leaders were last week he said himself, Evans and Prinsep. Maybe if/when the season is dead they'll take that risk.
This week I thought it'd be a selection shoot out between Evans and Prinsep. Evans losses that on form

Worst Hurricanes set-up I can remember. Shambolic. Crusaders by a big number.

Too many of the same old faces in the Canes coaching staff. We really need a complete cleanout.

Chris Gibbes is new this season and I rate him as a forwards coach. He was very good coaching Waikato and did well for Wellington too.

BUT if he has had a big say in the forward pack selected for this match I would ask WTF?
