@Yeetyaah ref said it was in the tackle, but didnt rule a knock on, odd sequence
Yeah I'm guessing he ruled out a deliberate knock forward so convinced himself there was no offence to rule on. Was weird.

Koroi was terrible up until that milked card. Highlanders might be better for it.

Joe Wheeler couldn't sound like more of a meathead.
An I have a whinge about the pre-match panel of Bernie, Wheeler and Bates?
When I tuned in it was just a cacophony of yelling and over excitement and talking over the top of each other.
Just couldn't stand it. Muted it and waited it out with beer on the deck.
Neither Bates and Wheeler have natural voices as TV presenter, and BOK is better than that performance.

wtf going on with sky not showing any replays of the breakdown before pens.. just show players walking to lineouts or lining up kicks.. odd.
Sky in pre season form too.
(Refer also whinge above about presenters)

that was a clear red recently.. did that rule change?!
He's up in the air competing for the ball. Can't believe that is a card- the threshold has been lowered further.
Competing?

At least the second time this season that Super Coach has gone into a game for the Chiefs perhaps reading too much into his own press....
Tana might be looking for a head coaching gig ...

fuck me that was a lot of penalties.
the off-side thing was policed as inconsistently as ever - the issue with the rule is not really in how far back you are, but in it being ruled the same every time, and that hasn't been fixed. we will continue to see more penalties from this change.
good to see the death of rolling and cribbing on the ground, players will stop doing it now it's being penalised, so that's all good.
the breakdown, i dunno. the side-entry penalties should clean up as that's an easy thing for players to recognise. the clear-lift thing... so many of these turnovers i see guys (boshier) lying on the player on the ground, not supporting his own weight, then pushing up. to me that's a penalty to the guy with the ball before it's a penalty to the defender. -
I haven't read previous comments but the Chiefs' lack of discipline cost them big time by allowing the Highlanders to kick to the corner and setup a lineout drive. The Highlanders' loose forwards outplayed their Chiefs opposites and Sowakula had a mare. Disappointing that senior players like ALB and Weber were very mixed.
On the positive side, Vaa'i showed plenty of promise, and I have talked him up, while Ah Kuoi also played well despite the turnover at the end (somehow). Williams was very inconsistent at policing the breakdown and I expect the pea to be blown out of the whistle for a few weeks yet.
And fuckin' Bryn Gatland. Three times he has now won a game with late DGs.

Gats "they didn't really create anything in attack"...
hmmm. apparently driving straight through your forward pack isn't attack these days? is it only attack when you throw the ball wide? based on that response and chiefs plan would seem so
I hope he didn't say that, given his history with Wales.

Yeah, I usually complain about Cards in these situations, especially ones where people are actually competing, or the attacker Who gets the ball jumps into someone else space, but that was a clear yellow, I dare say in the NH that would be a red.
