Covid-19 and keeping fit

Back on my routine for the last few mornings after having a week of doing feck all except for a bit of kidsyoga. Having a rest from it tomorrow will just walk. I have this routine to memory but we have a white board with it on in the garage as my husband does a lot of these too, but he uses weights more and treadmill. If I recall correctly this was from YouTuber a few years back will try and find him and it always feels like a good home workout in about 20m. Anyway, it perked me up so thought I'd share incase anyone needs a change...
5.30am, mat down in the conservatory.
I always stretch and "wake up" for about 5mins anyway.
30s squat jumps
30s plank Jack's
30s mountain climbers--hate these slightly less than the pj's.
30s squat alternate lifts.
30s squat jumps
30s up down planks - #fml
30s push ups- kill me now (this is also where I want to stop for a break)
30s leg lifts
30s side plank (better)
30s other side plank
My note actually says a leg reach on those but not attempting at the moment.
Break few mins, wiggle.
30s lay down push (up better)
30s superman's
30s superman's with reach (not lying didn't do them)
30s inner leg lift
30s other inner leg lift
30s T rotation
30s outer leg lift
30s other outer leg lift
30s T rotation
30s plank
Break
30s 1leg glute lift/"Bridge"
30s other leg glute lift/"Bridge"
30s reverse crunch kick out
30s reverse crunch
30s dips (hate)
30s flutter kicks
30s leg lift circles
30s crunch
30s Cross crunch with leg lift
30s leg lift circlesI then wiggle about for a few mins whilst resting.
Drink a huge glass of water or two take my vitamins. Then shower have breakfast etc get ready for work. If i don't do it first thing in the morn I won't do it. I reverse the list every now and then but I find I manage it better in that order.Hate upper body stuff, could squat and sit up all day. If anyone wants to help me out with a new routine I'd be open to try something new especially for Upper body but have to sneak it in so I don't have a mental block.
I love home work outs! Music playing is a must!! -
Gin tonight!

well after a week of no exercise - aside from chasing the kids around - I've dropped under a hundy! Haven't dipped into the 90's almost since the 90's lol. Aiming to end up around 92-94kg which would take me back to 7th form weight.
It's been odd how much difference I feel at 99kg compared to 105kg, and I can't even remember how the body felt back at 113kg!! Definitely lost muscle mass as there has been no weight training during lockdown. Once I can get back into the gym I expect I'll gain a bit back but totally stoked to have reached this goal.
ha ha even lockdowns have some silver lining aye!

Well, foot's good enough to be back on the rower. lazy 10km yesterday, and just smashed out a 15km burst this morning to prepare me for the hazy ipa that's just finished carbonating. 5 days from grain to glass - can't beat that easily!
Haven't bothered to weigh myself on lockdown - not much more I can do, so just chillaxing and enjoying having family time.
Enjoy the long weekend NZ ferners, and don't forget to mark respets tomorrow morning.
Also, lamb rogan josh, naan and then cheesecake for dinner tonight. Living the good life!

@JK this is just the inspiration I need, reckon my calf will be fine by the weekend and all you old bastards are breaking. @mariner4life get back in your box.
funny, running last night my Achilles was tender to start, and then a calf tightened, and i thought "shit we had 2 fern injuries today, this shit comes in 3s"
false alarm

@Bones copy paste, negative ninny again I see
Was just about to post in here saying I'm not doing anything today after ginning last night and I have to do some work from home soon, just hoping no one needs me at work in person as I'm looking like a scarecrow.
Definitely walking the family later though.
-
@R-L not negative at all. Just saying us 40s could also give that workout a good go.

@R-L I'm a good boy!

@taniwharugby why do you have to be on a lead then??

Sorry team, late to the thread. I had a fern hiatus. Did anyone notice ? no ? good.
You'll all be thrilled to know your old mate MN5 has continued being a #athlete even during Covid. ( keen Facebook stalkers like @Bones have already offered words of encouragement, particularly on one of my tire flip vids ).
I hate running. I'm dating a runner ? is this an issue ? strangely no cos running is "her" thing which she likes doing on her own......in fact she was running within days of meeting me for hours at a time.....we had discussed this via Tinder before actually meeting so naturally I was terrified she'd take me out on the trails an expose my ineptitude. Thankfully she didn't ( well, not running ) and even on the walks we used to take pre lockdown I held my own provided I let her walk in front and wheezed as quietly as I could. Prior to that my idea of cardio was to lift the weights faster. That's not entirely true, I've actually always been pretty fit by default from hill walks and walks home cos I refuse to pay for taxis. You all know my surname and it's heritage. So, instead of running go out and chuck heavy things around even if it's your own body ( Google how many push up variations there are out there )
I think there's two ways you can take this lockdown, become a raving alcoholic or a fitness freak......there's always gonna be elements of the former ( excuse me while I sip this Pinot Noir ) but fuck me, get out there and get active as well, do something cos no fluffybunny ever said "Shit I really regret doing that work out and making my body feel good"

@MN5 I commented on a tire flip vid? That sounds like a loooooong time ago.
IMO you really shouldn't be knocking toddlers off their trikes and tipping it over anyway.
Nice prompt response. Earlier this year, late in the evening your time so you might have been pissed after a few G n T's ?
