@kiwiwomble My only AB jersey is a 1997 CCC version with the Steinlager logo. I've no need for an Adidas jersey.
I still have my pre steinlager jersey, just CCC and Fern. It is bloody shabby now tho!
Now, that is a true classic. Only about a 1 year window to have purchased that. 1993.
The steinlager logo was pretty bad IMO. I have zero nostalgia for that. Can't put red on an All Black jersey.

I reckon the colour is more important than the size. Anything other than white & black is going to look odd.
The Steinlager logo just about got away with it because it was about half the size of a beer mat, but these days anyone paying that kind of coin is going to want full coverage
id love to talk to a marketing type person about these kinds of things, ive often thought a sponsor would endear themselves to the supporters hugely if they opted for a small one on the arm or on the right chest and adidas moved to the arm (like cricket does now), would thin there would be lots of good press and maybe more sales, i havent bought a jersey since AIG was stuck on it
Yeah that makes sense, but I think the problem is you're in a minority. The dedicated AB fan who understands and appreciates the importance of the black jersey is probably of little importance to the advertisers. There are far more eyeballs in the US, Aus, Japan, UK etc that need to see a big logo for them to get good return on their advertising dollar.
In short, your team is too successful. Try being crap for a decade or two, and then you won't have all these multinationals clamouring to deface your precious jersey

Honestly I don't mind sponsor logos, I feel jerseys look naked without them. Probably coz I'm younger than all of y'all so I'm just used to it.
Hated them at first, but I've got used to it now. But I do look forward to the RWC jerseys every 4 years, they're a little more special for not having sponsors on them

I've got a warriors jersey with the NSWRL badge on! They never even got to play with it.

@bones pic? is it just the same as the first NRL warriors jersey?
Yeah it's back in NZ unfortunately. Exactly the same just different badge, the blue NSWRL one instead of I think it was ARL?

still an interesting choice considering as far as i know they dont trade in NZ, must really see the "global brand" aspect as worth it

The All Blacks have agreed to put the name Altrad on the front of their jerseys from 2022, a deal that will push their total kit sponsorship to over $50 million a year.
The French building supplies company which also sponsors the French national team and owns Montpellier Herault Rugby Club has seen off competition from major Japanese corporations as well as Amazon to secure the naming rights to rugby's most coveted real estate.
Altrad will replace AIG as the All Blacks' front of jersey sponsor once the existing deal with the US insurance group expires at the end of this year.
As revealed by the Herald in June, UK-based petrochemical company Ineos have agreed a separate deal to put their name on the back of the All Blacks' shorts from next year and the combined value of those two agreements is understood to be more than $50m a year.
This makes the All Blacks playing kit the most valuable uniform in world rugby.
It is believed that the agreement with Altrad is the most expensive jersey sponsorship in rugby history, worth about 50 per cent more than England's recently renewed agreement with telecommunications company O2.

I hear the collar is coming back too. Red, White and Blue.

purely from a design point....its not a bad logo, will be interesting to see if they have negotiated anything weird like removing the border from the AIG logo, maybe just the word ALTRAD?
Would love to see them do something like the old steinlarger logo, small on the right brest and adidas in the middle, pipe dream obviously
