Yeah I was pissed off how we didn't advance also - all the players know there's a fine for going over the 10m mark, when the AB's saw England doing it they should have responded. France did the same a few years back and again we let them cop the fine on their own.

It goes back to what we were discussing on here a little while ago that it’s become a performance. I don’t doubt the emotion and feeling put in by the players, but the formation, microphones etc removes some of the spontaneity that can occur like movement forward.
Whilst many remember the 2003 RWC match against Tonga for their sipi tau starting during the ABs haka, what I also loved was Kees Meuws responding in his own personal way.

I'm on board with a single haka
I also couldn't give a toss whether England are fined or not for their vaginal thrust.
But the protocols are daft and should change. We should respect the right to perform the haka and the opposition right to respond. Advancing, yelling, gesturing , whatever, all should be allowed.
The line should only be drawn at physical contact.
If we can't trust 2 sides of professional players to not start punching each other before the official commencement of 80mins of trench warfare, then we have bigger issues.

I'll go against the grain here. I like the two of them and the excitement of wondering which one will be whipped out.
are we still talking war dances?

Thank you, Joe Marler, this week was getting boring. Now, at least, we have a tabloid row about the Haka to enjoy. Hopefully "aura" and accusations of cheating will be next.
I’d love Finau’s first forward whoop ass to be Marla.
Might have to make him wear the 10 jersey

@Canes4life He's not been selected and he's deleted his X account.

If the All Blacks coaching staff are asked about this in a press conference, which I suspect they will be, surely the answer should be something like:
"Joe has had his say and you're read what he said. We're focusing on letting the players we've selected have their say on Saturday afternoon. Our whole camp is united in supporting their preparations to be fully focused on the big match. We are not going to be at all distracted by anything a player who hasn't be selected by our opponent has posted on social media."

I'd be more.surprised if we went on a NH tour and they didn't ask for it to be banned...well, more specifically it seems to be England.
That said, I still think we need to ditch one of the versions of our anthem or the haha...

@taniwharugby who gives a fuck about God anyway?

The English are just angry they haven't thought of having a chariot ride at ferocious velocity around the stadium before the game by a 2000 year old militant femme in striking headgear.

The BTL comments in The Telegraph are a hoot. You should get in there and get stuck in on how God Save the King is a colonialist genocidal anthem which needs to be banned...

The Haka, God Save The King and God Save New Zealand just aren't woke enough for 2024.
Come to think of it, neither is test match Rugby.
The entire game on Saturday should be scrapped and 80,000 in Twickenham should have a silent vigil instead to ponder the evils of colonialism. 😉
