@Nepia seeing as you are barking orders from Australia, ill give you a quick summary of what I thought of the game. It was a shit advertisement for rugby, luckily Japs don't know the game and are easily pleased. Filled with box kicking and kicking penalties interspersed with big forwards running one out. Only time it got good was when Kolbe had his hands on the ball and that was twice in 80 mins. The springbok 13 who is usually useless had the best game ive seen him play. The scrum war where the Boks gained the majority of their points was mystifying as it seemed the Poms had the upperhand on a few occasions as well. All in all, running rugby wasn't seen tonight. Neither team knows complexity nor subtlety with ball in hand.

England and their arrogant coach celebrated beating the All Blacks like it was VE day. Hubris.

Nemesis comes in the form of the Springboks.

    What a load of rubbish.

Most of the English fans are great. I was thinking about some of the rubbish that has been in the UK media this week.

As with most countries, the real rugby people are wonderful. Sadly, it’s the bandwagon jumpers, bringing their petty footballing fan culture, that ruin it for everyone. England, quite naturally given the size of their population just tend to have more than most

Eddie Jones looks devasted. What a difference a week makes.

He’s done a 2003 all over again - I honestly think that he’s gambled on winning this tournament by knocking out the ABs and then relying on talent alone to get him to that point and onwards

    Serously?

England made the final despite having the toughest draw of the major teams.

Sky is the limit for guys like Itoje, Underhill, Curry, Sinkler and Ford. All excellent players. All will be there in 2023.

I'd ditch Farrell as captain and give the gig to Itoje. He's developing into an outstanding player.

    This.

I’ve been listing to A Captain’s Cup podcast recently and it’s become really evident that win a WC your team has to have a fundamentally outstanding and decent human being as it’s captain. I think Siya fits in well with the current group of RWC winning captains, as a leader and human

    Agree about the personnel.

    But the draw?

    Poor Tonga team
    Poor USA team
    14-man Argentina
    Week off
    Average Australia team
    Excellent SF against NZ
    Hammered by SA

    Not exactly stellar

    Compared with

    NZ
    Poor Namibia team
    Average Italy team
    Poor Canada team
    Japan
    Wales
    England

No mention of the Boks players being subbed.

Haha such a joke. Christ, if they’d had Sinkler scrummaging it could have been an even bigger bloodbath at the scrum!!!

I have to put the coaches in that category. Some of the stuff they come up with - Jones & Gatland in particular- is cringeworthy. The bandwagon-jumpers believe what they read in the press and that colours their judgement, sadly.

The real fans are the same as everywhere and the RFU have done a great job in weeding out the neanderthals at Twickenham. Was really impressed by the passion and respect shown to the opposition when I was there last year. Great atmosphere.

    Still and?

Just pointing out that although England had to beat NZ to reach the Final (a feat nobody else could do at this WC), they didn't have to get out out of 2nd gear prior to that match.

They won the SF, they won it well, but they may have over-revved and burnt the clutch.

Good watch. Amazing stuff by the Boks, picked them to sneak it but that was something special. Guessing Jones was prepping for last weeks Boks, did not expect that expansive play. Congrats to all you saffa ferners. I have a feeling the ABs might start to see a few bokke in their nightmares during the next rugby championship. Kolisi incredibly humble in victory, seems like a very inspirational bloke.
