Bloody hell, all the old boys are coming out. Lack of staff at the care home I guess. Welcome back BC.

Bloody fascinating game this one ,
The type of game that would be far more enjoyable if you were a neutral
Yep. Everybody hates us both and wants us both to lose.

To be fair, it is much better in here now that a few of the morons are gone.

Jeez, almost as many old ghosts appearing as in John Carpenter's "The Fog"...
Only need that English chick who always wanted to be a mod to drop by if England win. Didn't Kirwan made her "Princess" or something?

I’m surprisingly relaxed about today. I owe the ABs one for saving me from a rough night back in 1995 when I was sitting, a lone Kiwi, in a pub full of poms in London, telling me about the caning we were about to receive. Spurs fans who bought the Will Carling hype, the lot of em.
At least this time if we lose it will just be me and my brother watching, same as we have for the last 50 years. It’s usually worked out OK And I think it will this time too. If either team has a flat day they’re gone, same as it ever was. But if they both play as well as they can Eddie is going to spend the next week talking up his chances for a 3rd-4th playoff, the poor bastard.

A bit harsh. Dodge was usually alright...

I watched the 1995 final at a mates place with some other friends . A couple of other guys turned up who I had seen around but didn’t know turned up . Right before the haka one of the other guys dropped his pants to reveal nz flag boxers and kept his pants down throughout the game .
Next day my mate asked me who the guys were that came with me , I said I thought they were his mates . We never figured out a how they picked that flat to decide to gatecrash in the middle of the night , b why one of them felt comfortable enough with us to watch the game in his underpants. They were nice enough guys and gave us beers when we ran out do there’s that . -

@MiketheSnow whether we are under more pressure or not is irrelevant, the fact we've been here and done that before us the difference, England haven't, so this is a whole new set of pressure for them to deal with, similarly Ireland last week (and all tournament as one of the Faves) and Wales next week if they make it.
Nervous energy here now...hope it is a great game and people remember it for that and Owen's is remembered only as he reffed it, not cos of some call/s he made.
Lets go!
Agreed! Just hope no 'protocol' red cards to spoil things.
Unless it's an Owen Farrell shoulder tackle, then card the fuck out of him

No lose scenario for us
England win, then it's up to us to beat a Bok side who we've beaten four times on the trot for a chance to beat England in the Final
NZ win - hopefully as convincingly as they did against Ireland - and we can be grateful that England won't lift the trophy

But perhaps the biggest surprise to me is that Crotty doesn't seem to have had a look in, despite not that long ago being probably first choice midfielder?
When the RWC squad was announced Hansen implied that the 4th midfield position came down to Crotty vs Laumape so I'd say the 3 players involved this evening were always preferred.

Gonna put it out there that losing tomorrow is a lose situation for you.

@Bovidae last few years have shown SBW was always in the coaches plans, Crotty was probably the fly in the ointment: such a classy player but probably didnt quite suit what they are trying to achieve currently.
That said, if we win and meet SA in the final, is Crotty the best option then given how he & ALB went last outing, or is the fact he wont have played for a month make it too hard to get back barring injury?

Well if we lose, silver lining. Foster won't be new head coach....
And of course there's chinks in the armour, but the armour is constantly evolving. I mean, I haven't seen the All Black forwards play that directly since first Lions test last series.
And as an aside, all this 'knowing how to beat All Blacks' shit past players are spouting.
Lion's second test last series? So they need to get an AB sent off after 24 minutes, that's a tough game plan to implement on a regular basis methinks!
Boers last year? Get the ABs to gift you 21 points and then hang on!!I think the only real beating up of the ABs the last few years is Paddies in Chicago and Convicts in Perth. The rest of the losses are just the ABs running out of time to win 😉
In Hong Kong airport sweating on my flight to Tokyo!
No complaints about Perth.
Perth was valuable IMO. They played passively and got well beaten by a better team and guess what? The world didn’t end. Hansen didn’t get fired, no players got threatened by the public, a handful of nutters calling up ZB and the troll journos with their clickbait and that’s it. Compare that to the reaction at previous losses. I think the general public would like the ABs to win, and believe they have the tools to do it, but nobody is going to die if they don’t. That’s got to be a great relief of pressure on the team right there.
I love how you leave out the subsequent meltdown on the Fern.
Very slick. -

I think they would stay with ALB-Goodhue. Goodhue wasn't available to play SA and SBW seems to have been given the role as the reserve midfielder, coming on after ~50 mins.
