RWC: Japan v Scotland (Pool A)

A country and a language that very few people understand or respect. They even receive criticism for what they eat and their strange dress code!!!
A country and its population that has been battered by the extreme weather conditions.
A nation not known for its rugby .....
and now they have lost to Japan -

What an excellent game. So if Japan score one more try what’s the scenario?
Japan finish top of the pool and play SA
We play IrelandDon’t want to go off topic, but bring on Ireland.
I think we are going to smash them.
I can't help but feel that the new game the coaches have been developing has been to beat the worst of the NH style, aka Ireland.
I think you are right , and now we get to see if it’s effective

@jegga will Scotland now take legal action over the disruption to their preparation due to the
typhoonthreat of cancellation? You know they won’t let this go , they’ll carry on like we do about Barnes but without a shred of justification.
Can WR fine them for bringing the game into disrepute?
-
I initially wanted to play japan not Ireland ,
Now I’m ok with it ,
Japan is so likeable , I don’t want to be the pricks that beat them

I think we have a slight edge but wouldn't be surprised if Ireland wins.
Yeah - I was hoping for a relaxed week, super confident of beating Japan or Scotland comfortably.
Ireland is a different story. For me they can bring the shades of 1999, 2003, and 2007 - where no-one much sees them winning until they do.

@Derm-McCrum On reflection in the cold light of day that was harsh on the Scots to compare them to the Irish.

Take that nervy unhinged pessimism to planet rugby thanks.

@Chris-B I dont understand that line of thinking, we are thinking they 'can win', so how can no one see them winning?
THe other games, I can certainly think we took them too lightly, I expect largely due to the pumpings we gave France in 99, Aus in 03 and France in 07, there will be no similar light takings this time.
I expect the boys who were in Chicago and Dublin those times will be keen to right some wrongs and I reckon the coaching staff have had this game on thier mid for a while too

The best thing that could of happened is having lost to them already, there will be no complacency. We have been improving, and Ireland have not.
I'm quietly confident. We could lose, sure, but I don't think we will.

There is no way we are taking this match lightly. After 2007 I don’t think the ABs ever count their chickens again.
