Jesus, that's a massive call - 2015 we had the two best rugby players of all time and at least three other all time great All Blacks!

    McCaw, Carter GOATs
Nonu-Smith - GOAT Midfield combination with Nonu arguably being the GOAT of all NZ 12s
Kev and Myth - all time great ABs

    Kaino...?

I knew I missed one name - I plead dealing with an irish friend who had the gall to say Nigel favoured the ABs tonight

Oh hahahaha, you're friend is a bit a of a joker, is he?

Quick question - how many tries did Ireland's starting wingers score over the tournament?

Some big moves have happened and you have to give credit to the TWM
The big movers are Laulala, Savea, Mounga, ALB and Barrett in his best position at fullback

He destroys their momentum in attack. just a defensive weapon.

This was the most appalling match Nigel Owens has refereed....at least three yellows missed by head high and neck rolls by the Irish and the penalty try was absurd...Todd was hemmed in there against the post by an Irish player and couldn't get away even if he tried...lucky that wasn't a decision that could've effected the out come of the match. The world's best Ref?????

    Fucking hell. Never happy aye?
I remember when Dan Carter got yellowed for a horrendous tackle against Wales and the Fern foamed endlessly at the mouth about the IRB (as was) conspiring with the illuminati, aliens, English rugby clubs and the man on the grassy knoll to besmirch his sainted name.
    Get a grip.

We won 46-14, ref had nothing to do with it.

And yes, the worlds best ref.

I think he's suggesting that we'd have won by more if not for Nige's terrible refereeing

    Terrible?

    Luigi is spot on.

Maybe not his best game, but Nigel was fine and reffed consistently, let the game flow and communicated well - as he always seems to do. Arguably the best Ref I've seen.

If we want decisions to be consistent across games, even when other refs aren't as good and make poor decisions on late or high tackles which wreck games, then so be it. Expect consistently poor reffing.

But I'd rather have a card-shy ref like Owens with his empathy with the players than a card-waving maniac any day.

Hit it too hard on Friday night, played some golf and went for a feed.

Had a little lie down before the game..... just woke up now.

    Nice to see we won

How the fuck did I not set an alarm

Whether his beloved boys in green win or whether they lose, Ewan MacKenna is still a tool:

Massive coaching calls in this team ,

It would’ve been easy to keep the side the way it was, that is what has worked in the recent past, stability.

Watched the game again. I'm astounded Kieran Read wasn't MOTM. He was awesome. Defence a brick wall, and his carrying amazing - not CJ Stander style carrying, but into a gap and offload the ball type carrying. Best match since his heyday a few years back.

Thought it a brave call to pick an under-played Jack Goodhue for a crunch game - worked real well

I'm really glad Schmidt is coming home, he has been in the NH far too long and it's just excuse after excuse.

First sentence out of his mouth is "I don't really have an excuse" then within five minutes has offered up:

    • Short week
    • Injuries in the camp.
    • Reversed penalty before half time was wrong decision.

Fair play he is dissapointed, but it was the same thing after the Japan game.

You get the sense he knew Ireland didn't have the momentum going into the tournament or at least part way though it.

    Matt Todd ???

Owen's caught on Mic "super sizing" an offside yellow card with a no arms "deal". Was pretty shabby from a great ref

I agree with the assessment that Owen's is a top level ref but yesterday he was off with his methodology. The ruck entries and disruptions weren't up to scratch, and the goal line reffing of defenders was inconsistent. He reminded me of a teacher having a lazy day.

Nothing wrong with acknowledging a patchy performance amongst his legacy of excellence

One thing stands out everytime we play Ireland and it's a credit to both teams.

Both packs are genuine when scrumming.

Very few scrum resets with us and Ireland ( same with us and boks). I've always appreciated that with the Irish.
