Love the passion and the emotion from the Uruguay captain. Really makes me love this game.

    well done Uruguay.

Ive only got one eye on it as I'm allegedly participating in a global leadership videoconf but from what I saw Fiji looked poor. Not a team - looked like they rated themselves too high and underated the puny Sth Americans.

    To their detriment

All hail our new overlord dm.

In case you were wondering for which clubs these Uruguayans are playing, look at this:

The captain, Gaminara, is listed as 1.75 m according to wiki. The shortest flanker at the RWC I'd say.

@Bovidae In that list that I just posted from the Rugby Uruguay website, he's even listed as 1.71m. The same height as their starting halfback. There's another loosie of 1.755m

I love the emotion! I'd love to see footage of parties in Uruguay.

I've seen a few south american party videos, lovely ladies.

Well done to Uruguay but gutted for Fiji at the same time. Was hoping they'd push hard for a spot in the quarters but they really let themselves down today. They were complacent and failed to change their gameplan when things weren't going their way. Careless offloads throughout the game and weak defence as well as shocking goalkicking cost them badly. When they played simple rugby and built phases they had success but thought that throwing silly offloads was the way to go. A dark day for PI rugby.

Oh nah, that wasn't what I was saying. Merely saying I await your instruction dear leader.

    Anyway... Rugby!

Awesome by Uruguay, they were fearless. Really thought they were gonna get topped over in the end. Fiji...seemed a bit arrogant?

So did Fiji get screwed by the short turnaround?

12 changes to the team which played on Saturday.

So I would respectfully say NO FUCKING WAY

That's one to warm the cockles of your heart.

    Fiji gambolled and lost.

Tremendous tackling and patient defensive structure from the Uruguayans, combined with a confident and accurate attack.

    Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

I was wondering the same thing.
But I haven't paid close enough attention to the team composition. Maybe someone can enlighten me. How many of today's starters featured against Aussie?

Still - I would have expected Fiji to take this game. Thought they looked pretty good against Australia.
    Kudos to Uruguay though.

So the question is how many more of the top team would have played if was a longer turnaround?

Not taking away anything away from Uruguay, love a good upset. It’s what makes the WC interesting.

Just want a level playing field.
