@sparky One of the most impressive things in that movement was A Smith line he ran after his pass. He made a direct line to where Reece would likely be if he made a break, turns out he did and Smith was in the perfect place to take a pass and link to Savea. Its those little things that make the difference.

Also loved how quickly he unloaded to Ardie. Knows Ardie is the better carrier, but even more, knows he is better off supporting and clearing the ball quickly from the next ruck.

I read someone saying Ardie is this rwcs Kaino, that’s pretty high praise

I thought we owned the refs? Clearly the independent medical staff weren't on the payroll

He is one of those really frustrating players.

In that, whenever you see him fight for every single inch of ground, with immense leg drive , on every single carry or defensive play, you're reminded how frustrating it is that all our other more gifted athletes don't do the same.

I see some are having a moan about the 'disrespect' shown during the Haka by opposition fans.

Fark some people are so precious they need to pull their farking heads in.

It is sport, fans can react how they like.

Reactions Update: No singing during the Tongan Sipi Tau, singing before but stopped when it was being done.

@bayimports welcome back. Does the timing of your return have anything to do with a certain 20+ win against the Taniwha today πŸ˜€

Thought Bridge had a pretty ordinary game eh. A couple of nice touches but more ugly moments, including one where he seemed to almost be avoiding attempting to catch a kick. He really shouldn't be being beaten by a midget in the air.

Yeah, we did miss an in form Rieko on the left, he offers a lot more on attack and is as good defensively. Hope they try and play him into some form in the next 3 games.

Thought Faf de Klerk had a bit of shocker, put his team under pressure many times. Good work to shut him down.

Can't say I agree. Felt the Boks were on top in most scrums and Moody was fairly lucky not to get penalised in the first two scrums.

I was surprised when Moody wasn't penalised there as he clearly had his hand on the ground.

The biggest challenge for the scrum will be against NH opposition as they aren't as familiar and the technique can be different.

Bok TH was pushing slighly downwards and dropping bind to pull down on Moody's arm. THs have been doing so forever but @NTA can confirm if latter no longer legal.

Ardie is reminding me a bit of the young Iceman, with less effective tackling.

When Faf plays we seem to have issues at scrum time protecting Smith at the base.

That's because Faf likes to stand in our backline when we have the ball

He’s rarely penalised for it so must be doing something right. Other than that blatant one when it was still under Read’s feet. But he’s very effective at it. He might just have one of those cloaks...

Technically speaking your shoulders should be no lower than your hips, and all binds should be as long as possible to keep arms straight.

In practice? Whatever you can get away with. Moody trends to bind short, so because the THP binds on the outside, his elbow is more likely to point down.

There was really only one scrum decision I felt was rough on the boks, and it was actually Nepo being flat on his face, overextended, which was called a reset.

Bok scrum much better with Snyman on.

@Damo same principle - and if memory serves, no more rucks were formed in a way that puts steph du toit offside.

I think there was a ruck formed prior to the pass which was intercepted.

I am agnostic as to whether it was offside or not. I reckon an AB may have ran 5m with the ball and/or we had reached the advantage line prior to the intercept. SDT was retreating. It looked really bad, but ref might have been right to let it go.

UK feed didn't allow any persepective on where PSDT was in retreat. Cut straight to close up of ruck. Coverage overall pretty average.

Pass from Smith would be called forward by some.

Top rated comment on that highlight claims Reece's pass to Smith was forward. Dummies don't even know backward from the hand = not forward.

Not a clear cut position. Just how things tend to be reffed nowadays. Once upon a time backwards WAS backwards..
