Quite a few of those have had other hits
-
@MiketheSnow I wasn't sure, was trawling an online list. Clearly their definition is not as stringent as ours

Gossssh some amazing tunes in here but only got half way through when I noticed a big red "BANNED" next to @Rancid-Schnitzel what have I missed?!? Update please and then I'll get back to the thread!
Also... I recently saw the vid for deeply dippy on TV and didn't realise how camp it was I thought it was 90s music fashion back then in my youth... Great band.

In the 60’s lots of American garage bands wanted to sound like the Beatles and the Stones.
Of the former, it’s hard to get past the Knickerbockers. This amazing song still gets played in grocery stores and many people still think it is the Beatles.
One of the very-best Stones ripoffs was The Chocolate Watchband.

Only US hit surprisingly
And only other Top 20 hit was 'New Pollution' in the UK

I now lay the trump card. This cannot be beaten.

Only because Bjork had more than one hit. Her singing ability is on a par with his.
Her and Beck have a sort of weird status amongst music nerds . -

@Catogrande That certainly got airplay in NZ at the time - about 40 years ago, I'd guess!

Her and Beck have a sort of weird status amongst music nerds .That's like saying you only beat us 'cos you scored more points.
Rules. There are rules.

This is the Hair-Metal One Hit Wonder that brought Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei together in The Wrestler.
Vid stars Milton Berle.

This was a certified Number One single in the U.S.A.
Topped out at #22 in NZ.
(From memory I believe Hollywood movie releases in the 1970s sometimes took half-a-year from American public release to hit the screens in Auckland, so the lag may explain the discrepancy in charting position.)

@Salacious-Crumb shit band, but RATT had i think 3 platinum albums and two top 40 tracks.
