Bledisloe #1

Forget the performance for a minute
ABs have gotten away with playing poorly for last 2 years and have won
The simple fact All Blacks conceded FOURTY SEVEN points is enough to stage an intervention
NZ have been by far the best side in World Rugby this decade
To then concede 47 points is shocking and utterly disgraceful
Guys are likely to get dropped as a result
Say Scott Barrett gets a 6 game ban, he only gets onto the plane to Japan because of Brodie Retalicks shoulder injury
I doubt they’ll change a thing. The coaches are pretty arrogant.

@Steven-Harris My contention is that Hansen has handled him wrong, as Graham Henry pointed out. The same way Hansen f*cked up with Steven Luatua - a better player than any of the bums available now.
Yep, Luatua, vs Fifita who openly didn’t want to do the hard yards FFS....

I was a fan of the twin playmakers until tonight. We need more creativity and direction at 10 and 12 in big tests. Mo'unga and Laumape defended well, but do not seem to create well in tighter spaces, and our defensive patterns seem shakier. Barrett still creates plenty and ALB creates gaps with footwork and offloads. Get Beauden back to 10 please.
Why do seem to lose our attacking confidence whenever Retallick is missing?

I still find it amazing that, a few games out from RWC2019, we are still unsure of our best team and combination.

After the way he played against the Lions I really thought the AB coaches would be all over him, moulding him into a Kaino-style 6. I mean the AB coaches are meant to be the best around, surely we could expect them to make the most of the talent we have available? Add that to the fact they’ve persevered with people like Fifita and it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

A few things stood out for me even accounting for the Red Card
No apparent game plan
Stupid chip kicks
A desire to go wide too early instead of doing the Hard yards up front.
Savea and Cane does not work we need a power forward at 6
Put Barrett back to First Five Ritchie back to the bench
we need RM and Ardies impact from the bench against tiring defences
Sorry I love Bender but he's too slow for wing
Finisher on the other wing maybe Reece need some X factor
And I hate to admit it but maybe SBW back as a point of difference.
We need to wake up and stop trying to overthink everything and back our skill sets. -

Yep, the idea that Fifita has a better workrate or fitness than Ioane is insane.

Ah, another TSF meltdown. Everyone completely overreacting as usual.
A 20 point hiding added to the 2 previous shit performances.... I don’t think anyone is over reacting.
I haven’t seen anything positive enough in these last three games to fill me with any sort of confidence.
Forgive me if I’m not singing from the rooftops.

Very keen to hear the press conferences on this one. Hansen has been saying that the Bledisloe and RWC prep are the only two goals this domestic season. Just like he said the Irish fixture would decide the world number one team once and for all and how the Lions series was the pinnacle of International Rugby.
Hansen keeps setting these goals yet failing at the hurdle and then trotting out the "It's just rugby, the sun will rise tomorrow, they were the better team etc etc"
I genuinely believe we have the cattle to retain the Bledisloe and win the RWC and the tactial and selection issues can be resolved fairly quickly on the back of a napkin having a couple of beers with Wayne Smith - it looks ugly but it's not catastrophic. The psychological issues in the team I'm not so sure, there are two groups that seem to be contributing to the malaise at the moment...
The Tew/Hansen/Read types who have cemented their legacy and will be nowhere to be found when it comes time to mopping up an RWC exit. Hasnen also better have a good look at Titch - one minute you are the very definition of a world class coach, the next minute you are so far off the pace Japan are touching you up.
The Barrett/Smith/Smith/SBW types who won a RWC on the backs of the old guard but seemingly feel like they played a bigger role than they did. They are now the old guard and are providing none of the leadership and stability which is needed.

Before I can figure out if we are overreacting when you say two previous shit performances are you talking South Africa/Argentina this year or Ireland/England at the end of last year?

Luatua was fucked over
Guy has been carving it up for Bristol in English Prem
He would walk into ABs #6 shirt today
He's a much better player than Teddy Bear Fifita, Frizell and SquirePiatau as well would do a good job at wing
I'd take him over Bridge and Reece for sure -
83-28. That stat is the Aussie vs ABs starting forwards no. of carries. I know stats of possession are heavily in favour of Aussies but I have been harking into this for a while. Modern defences can handle us a little better. We struggle to make in-roads because we no threats! Moody and Franks 1 combined carry!!!!

Having been a wee bit crap for the last 2 years, I thought the AB's played really bloody well in the 2nd half to win at Twickenham in Nov '18. Took guts, leadership and a collective team performance.
I thought that perhaps a corner had been turned.
How wrong I was.

@98blueandgold I've thought that Hansen plays favourites for a long time. It's pretty shocking how bad those two are.
