    So are we targeting this one for an A team, or putting another B+ team out, with a team going to Bled? I'm sure the boks want to win this, but do the Abs care? I know they want to win, but I mean big picture care, when it's all about RWC and Bled

    Given we have to play them in the first game and the winner of that will top the pool with the (on paper if everything goes according to rankings) the easier path to the final, I doubt they'd want the Boks beating us at home.

    I also think the match in SA v Aus was over-rated. I don't think Aussie are that flash at the moment.

    I think if we put out our B+/A- team we will have the boks covered.

    The Boks fielded a B-team against the Aussies, sending several of their first-choice players to NZ early. So it's hard to say how strong they really are, just as it's hard to say how strong we really are.

    Fair point.

    @Hooroo The Wallabies also never start well in a RC. Take out Thor's yellow and had the try that was butchered by DHP been scored, the result would have been a lot closer.

    How much will they beat us by this time then, to count as "covered"?

    Last year all the predictions were that we would smash them in the same fixture, and we've got worse since then.

    But for this fixture we have the Crusaders who are so good, they beat the Pumas in the Super Rugby final.

    Last year we smashed them all over the paddock except on the scoreboard. Kind of like the return fixture - in both cases, the team that played better did enough to lose

    No quick lineouts from backs would be a good start!

    Nice.

    The whole new rugby theory of letting the other team have the ball is still a bit baffling to me, but does seem to work on occasion (or maybe just supporters of it talking it up). Dunno.

    @Snowy Highlanders won a title with it. I think Jamie talked about it afterwards as a thing.

    That might be about field position though

    That's all I've got

    I’m not talking retrospectively? I mean this weekend I think we have them covered.

    @Hooroo

    Sure. But you probably said that last year too. I was certainly very surprised to see us lose, and I don't recall anyone picking it on TSF.

    Myself, I think we're not playing very well. I can't see us winning if we don't field close to our best team.

    (Either that or they get some of that dry powder that apparently is around.)

    @Jaguares4real

    You've said yourself in another thread that you can not separate the Jaguares from Los Pumas. πŸ˜‰

    Chester you're showing your lack of knowledge on ARG rugby
    You can not separate Jaguares from Los Pumas

    The success of the former is heavily correlated to the success of the latter The driving force for improvement

    I'm trying really hard to come up with a clever/ironic/sarcastic comment on Hansen's likely non-inclusion of ALB.

    But can't.

    Boks have a very good chance of winning in Cake Tin
    Fresh with 14 players established in NZ 9 days beforehand

    ABs will be battered & bruised from their 2nd half mauling in BA
    In their last two serious Test matches vs Pumas & Ireland They've scored Zero Points in 2nd half for 1st time in 8 years (100+ matches) & not scored a try in a match for 1st time in 20 years vs Irish

    There will be 7 healthy Crusaders to recall who've stayed in NZ
    Add Rieko Iaone + Bridge Still leaves over half the matchday 23 who'll going back to back vs two physical and abrasive sides

    @Jaguares4real well that’s a relief as the All Blacks test was going to get in the way of my celebrations of another Warriors win over Parramatta. Don’t have to bother now.

    @MN5

    Do you consider a Test Match vs Italy a serious game? πŸ’° πŸ’°
    Especially one which ends up being 3-66....
    Italy are Tier 2 nation with a tier 1 Economy
    They're mere cannon fodder in 6 Nations

    Moreover when was the last match you saw an ABs side spend 30 seconds in an opponents 22 in 2nd half a Test Match πŸ‘€
    Pumas set up camp on ABs 40 metre line

    Pumas 2nd half mauling was for nothing as they made too many errors when they had the pill I look forward to play NZ in Buenos Aires in 2020 with a very similar side

    You have to feel sorry for Parisse , 138 test matches for his country and the vast majority were apparently a pointless waste of his time. What was he thinking?
