@Jaguares4real captain on the bench?
Yes
Eben is only captain due to Kolisi injury He played last Saturday
Can't see him starting back to back Test Matches especially when Mostert & RG Synman have been in NZ for last 4 days with preliminary party

So are we targeting this one for an A team, or putting another B+ team out, with a team going to Bled? I'm sure the boks want to win this, but do the Abs care? I know they want to win, but I mean big picture care, when it's all about RWC and Bled
Given we have to play them in the first game and the winner of that will top the pool with the (on paper if everything goes according to rankings) the easier path to the final, I doubt they'd want the Boks beating us at home.

I also think the match in SA v Aus was over-rated. I don't think Aussie are that flash at the moment.
I think if we put out our B+/A- team we will have the boks covered.

The Boks fielded a B-team against the Aussies, sending several of their first-choice players to NZ early. So it's hard to say how strong they really are, just as it's hard to say how strong we really are.

Fair point.

I think if we put out our B+/A- team we will have the boks covered.
How much will they beat us by this time then, to count as "covered"?
Last year all the predictions were that we would smash them in the same fixture, and we've got worse since then.

But for this fixture we have the Crusaders who are so good, they beat the Pumas in the Super Rugby final.

Last year we smashed them all over the paddock except on the scoreboard. Kind of like the return fixture - in both cases, the team that played better did enough to lose

Nice.
The whole new rugby theory of letting the other team have the ball is still a bit baffling to me, but does seem to work on occasion (or maybe just supporters of it talking it up). Dunno.

I’m not talking retrospectively? I mean this weekend I think we have them covered.
-
Sure. But you probably said that last year too. I was certainly very surprised to see us lose, and I don't recall anyone picking it on TSF.
Myself, I think we're not playing very well. I can't see us winning if we don't field close to our best team.
(Either that or they get some of that dry powder that apparently is around.)

@Jaguares4real
You've said yourself in another thread that you can not separate the Jaguares from Los Pumas.

Chester you're showing your lack of knowledge on ARG rugby
You can not separate Jaguares from Los PumasThe success of the former is heavily correlated to the success of the latter The driving force for improvement

I'm trying really hard to come up with a clever/ironic/sarcastic comment on Hansen's likely non-inclusion of ALB.
But can't.
